(Minghui.org) A humble, illiterate farmer who never went to school has persisted in traveling between government agencies to look for her younger sister Ms. Han Zhongcui, a Falun Gong practitioner who was illegally arrested in July 2012, and rescue her.
After she searched everywhere, Ms. Han Zhongcui's family was finally able to see her at Gansu Province Women's Prison. She was emaciated as a result of abuse and mistreatment.
Ms. Han has been held in prison for ten months. However, Chengguan Court presiding judge Liu Dongyu refused to show the verdict for Ms. Han. He was afraid of seeing her sister, and even refused to admit that he was Judge Liu Dongyu. Gansu Prison Management Bureau officials also refused her visit by claiming that the sister is not a direct family member.
At Gansu Province Women's Prison, officers did not allow Ms. Han's sister to make a copy of the verdict. The officers drove her out with an excuse that she did not have the proper approval document from the police station. They threatened to arrest her if she continued coming to the prison. The prison stopped Ms. Han’s family visitation in February 2014.
Ms. Han's sister has not given up. She is determined to rescue her sister.
Ms. Han Zhongcui, a Chinese civil servant and mother of a mentally disabled son, has been subjected to severe persecution by the Chinese Communist Party since 1999, simply because she upholds her right to practice Falun Gong.
Ms. Han was held in the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center in 2003 for more than three years. She was placed in a solitary confinement cell many times, had unknown drugs put in her food, and was injected with unknown drugs. She was deprived of drinking water and toilet use, and was subjected to long-term sleep deprivation.
All winter, Ms. Han had to sleep on the concrete floor of the solitary cell, without any heat. She was hung up from her handcuffed wrists, and as a result her left arm was dislocated. The nerves in her right hand were damaged and one hand was fractured. Her back was severely injured and she could not straighten it. When she was sent to Lanzhou Military Hospital for treatment, they said that they could not do anything to help her because the nerve was damaged.
Her relatives took her home in January 2007.
Ms. Han has a 23-year-old son who is mentally challenged. His mental capcity is that of a 5-year-old child, so he cannot take care of himself and must rely on his mother. Ms. Han's husband Zhang Zhifu, who worked at an organization that takes care of elderly Party members in Guangwumenshi, has not provided financial support for his wife and son for a number of years. Ms. Han lives with her son in a poverty-stricken district, in a one-bedroom unit. The door and windows are broken and there is no heat.
Under orders from higher authorities, Ms. Han's employer has suspended her salary since September 2003. Consequently, she and her son have had to rely completely on their relatives for financial support.
In July 2012, officers from the Chengguan District 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division, along with staff from Ms. Han's workplace, arrested her and took her to the Jiuzhou No. 1 Detention Center in Lanzhou City. Ms. Han's family looked for her for nearly a year, and was finally able to see her in the Gansu Province Women's Prison on July 31, 2013. She was emaciated as a result of the persecution.
