Practitioner Refused to Join the Communist Youth League, But Was Still Voted as Secretary of the League

June 17, 2014

(Minghui.org) Yueyue is a young Falun Dafa practitioner. She began practicing Falun Dafa when she was little, and has followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in whatever she does. She is well-liked.

When Yueyue entered middle school, her teacher asked her to join the Communist Youth League. Yueyue asked her mother about it when she got home. Her mother told her not to join, because she would have to swear to devote her life to the League. Yueyue then told her teacher she wouldn't join, and her teacher was fine with her decision.

When Yueyue went to high school, she was voted the class leader. That teacher, too asked her to join the League. She told her teacher that she wasn't fond of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Her teacher didn't pursue it.

One day the school called all the class leaders to a meeting and gave them assignments. One of the assignments was to ask their classmates to write articles slandering Falun Gong. Yueyue went back and told her classmates about all the tasks, except the one about writing slanderous articles. When her teacher reminded her that she had missed that assignment, she told her teacher that it would interfere with everyone's study and should be ignored. Her teacher liked Yueyue a lot and agreed with her.

One of the tests on politics had questions slandering Falun Gong. Yueyue didn't take the test and turned it in. Her score of zero shocked the entire school. Yueyue insisted that there was something wrong with the questions, and she did not suffer any consequences.

After Yueyue entered college, the class was to elect a new class leader and secretary of the League. The existing class leader and secretary treated everyone in the class to meals to get reelected. To Yueyue's surprise, she was elected as secretary of the League. She tried to turn it down since she wasn't a member of the League, but her teacher and classmates insisted that she be the secretary. After considering the fact that in this position she could be more effective in helping others realize the evil nature of the CCP and quit the communist organizations, she agreed to it.
