(Minghui.org) Collecting blood samples should be conducted by professionals who have been properly trained. Nonetheless, in many places in China, it is common for police to forcibly draw blood from Falun Gong practitioners, after breaking into their homes.

Three police officers recently broke into practitioner Ms. Chen Lirong’s residence in Dalian City, Liaoning Province on July 29, 2014, and forcibly drew blood from her. They claimed the reason they needed a blood sample was because she had a criminal record.

Practitioners usually become very healthy after practicing Falun Gong. Because practitioners follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, Ms. Chen has never violated any laws. The real reason why the police came to collect her blood sample was to use her for a potential organ match.

Ms. Chen is not the only practitioner in China who was forced to have her blood drawn by police. The Minghui website has reported that since early 2014, blood sample collections and DNA tests from non-consenting Falun Gong practitioners have occurred throughout China, although most cases took place in Guizhou and Liaoning Provinces.

The European Commission, Australia, Italy, and Finland governments passed resolutions condemning the forced organ harvesting atrocity sanctioned by the Chinese Communist Party. On July 30, 2014, the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee completed the final review of H. Res. 281, which calls on China to immediately end state-sanctioned harvesting of human organs from prisoners.

A Chinese doctor, whose name was mentioned in the book Bloody Harvest, co-authored by David Matas and David Kilgour, was arrested for organ transplant abuse in July 2014.
