(Minghui.org) As the weather in Australia begins to warm up, more outdoor public activities are being held in cities throughout the country. To contribute to their communities, Falun Gong practitioners promote this ancient Chinese cultivation practice, and inform people about the brutal persecution in China.
Recently, two local events took place in the cities of Toowoomba and Melbourne.
The annual Toowoomba Languages and Cultures Festival was held at Queens Park on August 10. Among the multi-cultural shows, cuisine, and music, Falun Gong exercises brought tourists the positive energy and peace.
Visitors stop to learn about Falun Gong.
Falun Gong practitioners demonstrated the exercises on the stage twice at the festival. Many people stopped at their booth and accepted the materials and origami lotus flowers.
A young woman from Afghanistan watched the demonstration for a long time, and finally asked practitioners to teach her. While doing the movements, she said that she felt strong energy flowing through her body. An hour later, she came back with two friends who also wanted to learn the exercises.
In Melbourne, during the warmer months, all kinds of activities are held in front of the public library. Local Falun Gong practitioners also set up a booth, displaying photos to expose the persecution and collecting signatures against the organ harvesting atrocities in China.
Signing the petition to support Falun Gong's peaceful resistance.
Biyza Tarhan, a student from Sirius College, talked to practitioners for a long time. He later gave a speech in his public speaking class on Falun Gong and the persecution.
Marcelo Diaz, a student majoring in environmental science, is from South America. He had never heard about the persecution, and was saddened by the brutality. He offered to help practitioners raise awareness.
A Jewish scholar was hesitant to sign the petition at first. However, when a practitioner told him the history of the persecution, and showed him evidence of the organ harvesting crimes, he was shocked.
He told the practitioner that his grandfather was killed in a Nazi concentration camp. He felt compelled to sign the petition and help stop the persecution in China.
