Training Practitioners to Clarify the Truth

Sept. 28, 2014 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Seattle, Washington, United States

(Minghui.org) To train more practitioners how to talk to people living in China and visiting from China about Falun Dafa and how to encourage them to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations, several practitioners held a training session in December 2013. A second session was held in August this year at a library in Seattle. Several experienced practitioners shared their thoughts and demonstrated how they approached people about the subject.

Practitioners first studied the Fa to further their understanding of Master's teaching about truth clarification at tourist sites. Four practitioners then shared their experiences.

Practitioners Share Their Techniques

A 70-year-old practitioner has been calling China for many years and also talking to Chinese people at tourist sites. She is brief and concise in summarizing the CCP's history and the persecution of Falun Dafa. She gives the tourists important facts in a short period of time. She provides additional information when needed. Whether talking on the phone to people in China or in person at a tourist attraction, she is patient, persistent, and compassionate. She has encouraged 50,000 mainland Chinese to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

An 80-year-old practitioner goes to Chinatown daily to talk to the Chinese. She vividly described three different types of Chinese tourists she has met and how she tailors her words and what she has to say when she talks to them about Falun Dafa and encourages them to quit the Party. She said one person not only refused to listen to her but wanted to hurt her. Despite that, she treated him with compassion, and he finally accepted a brochure.

Role-Playing in Skits Helps Make the Point

To make the training session more effective, practitioners presented four short skits. In each skit, one played the Chinese tourist and the other encouraged the “tourist” to quit the Party. The "tourists" were of different socioeconomic backgrounds and ages and held different attitudes towards Falun Dafa.

One belonged to the Christian faith, one praised the CCP, another believed the false propaganda about Falun Dafa, and yet another pretended to avoid any contact with practitioners. Besides learning different things to say, the participants became skillful at switching topics and explaining everything patiently.

Practitioners also discussed how to start a conversation, eliminating the attachment to fear, how to be organized in what to say, not being afraid of difficulties, and avoiding being moved by what people said and their reactions. They also noted the most important talking points.

The four groups improvised as they went. They each had their own way of explaining the facts about Falun Dafa, with some telling stories and others conversing as if they were talking to friends.

The lively presentation outlined the basic techniques of carrying on a conversation, encouraged practitioners to approach tourists, and strengthened their righteous thoughts. They understood that they each had to walk their own paths.

The next day at the tourist site they were able to apply what they'd learned, with positive results.

Practitioners who attended the session said that Fa study helped them gain more confidence. They also said that the training was very helpful and should be held more often.
