Explaining Facts Dissolves Interference When Suing Jiang

Oct. 13, 2015 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Yunnan Province

(Minghui.org) Tens of thousands of people inside and outside of China have filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin since late May 2015.

In some areas in China, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents have arrested and harassed practitioners for their filings. This happened in Chuxiong City, Yunnan Province, as it has in many other places.

Here, practitioners found that by explaining why they filed the complaints, the agents came to understand more about the persecution and no longer harassed us.

Authorities' Actions

Ms. Xu Lijuan was asked at her place of work to visit the head of the city's Statistics Bureau. This happened on August 12, 2015. Ms. Xu and her daughter went and explained why they chose to sue Jiang to the head and other staff members, and then they returned home.

Ms. Ma Guihua from Shisiye Company was asked to see someone in the company security department on September 2, 2015. They wanted to discuss her complaint against Jiang. They threatened that she would lose her retirement pension if she continued to sue Jiang. She told them why she decided to sue Jiang and how she was persecuted.

She said, “Now, you understand why I sued Jiang. I believe you would do the same if you were in my shoes.” She went home after that.

The security department in Ms. Cai Shuha's company threatened her husband that they would arrest her for her filing complaints against Jiang Zemin. He feared that she would be arrested and their family would be affected, so he called her in mid-September 2015 and asked for a divorce when she was on a business trip. Ms. Cai explained to her husband and son why she sued Jiang. She then called the security department at her workplace and explained that she was doing nothing illegal, and talked to them about the persecution she suffered. She asked that they not contact her family again, and that they talk to her directly if they needed more information. Her family became harmonious again after she clarified these points.

Agents from the Dayao Police Department, the 610 Office, the Jinbi Police Station, and the Village Committee in Dayao County in Chuxiong, broke into practitioner Ms. Hai Yongfen's home on September 1, 2015, and ransacked it. They demanded to know why she sued Jiang. They also demanded that she give them her family members phone numbers, and they ordered her entire family to come to the Jinbi Police Station.

Jinbi officers threatened Ms. Hai and her daughter. “You are not only jeopardizing your retirement pension by suing Jiang,” they said, “but also making it difficult for your daughter to transfer her residence registration from Zhejiang Province back to Dayao County.” She told the officers why she sued Jiang and explained the facts about Falun Gong.

Another officer asked her to sign a document, which she refused. “I won't sign this document,” she said. “I need to go home and take care of my grandchildren.” She then went home with her daughter.

The same group of officers went to the home of 73 year-old Ms. Li Qionglan and ransacked it on September 1, 2015. They confiscated five Falun Gong books and over 100 Minghui Weekly publications. They interrogated her about her complaints against Jiang, demanded to know where she got the Falun Gong informational materials, and demanded that she provide information about other local practitioners.

Officers extorted 2,000 yuan from Ms. Li but released her after she told them about her new-found health after finding Falun Gong.

Ms. Duan Huailan's home was visited by the same group of officers on September 3, 2015. They asked about her lawsuit against Jiang and told her that her home was being monitored around the clock. Ms. Duan talked to them about the persecution, the benefits of the practice, and about the legal basis for suing Jiang. They left without another word.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other members of the Politburo Standing Committee and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Communist regime established an extralegal security organization, the 610 Office, on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows its citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
