Fear Is the Biggest Obstacle to Saving Sentient Beings

Oct. 24, 2015 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Hebei Province, China

(Minghui.org) Almost everyone who practices Falun Dafa has benefited from it in some way. But when the persecution started in July 1999, many people gave it up.

Was it because they thought Falun Dafa wasn't good?

Some people may have thought that, but I believe the majority stopped cultivating because they were afraid that their personal interests would be adversely affected. Fear pulled them away from cultivation and ruined their thousands of years of waiting for the chance to be practitioners.

Down the road, a lot of these people began to cultivate again because of illness or hardships, but they were still haunted by fear. I believe that they have not saved sentient beings wholeheartedly because of that fear. They timidly pass out a few fliers and have not reached that many people.

Some are afraid to talk to people face to face about Falun Dafa, while others only talk to people selectively. They are missing opportunities to save more sentient beings.

Master taught us to save the world's people:

“From now on, the Dafa disciples in China as much as anyone, both new students and veterans alike, should let go of their long-standing human attachments and start to seize the day and comprehensively save the world’s people.” (“Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World’s People” from The Essentials of Diligent Progress VOL. III)

Have we met Master's standard? I don't believe so. My understanding is that it's fear that's holding these practitioners back.

More than 170,000 practitioners have filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin with the Supreme Court since May 2015. In my opinion, that is far from enough.

Why haven't more complaints been filed? My understanding is that it's fear.

Face the fear and overcome it. We can't let fear stop us on our path of cultivation.

The above is my personal understanding. Please point out anything inappropriate.
