Family Suspects Foul Play After Woman Dies 4 Days After Release

(Minghui.org) Ms. Shao Yunzhu from Lanxi City, Zhejiang Province died on July 12, at the age of 64, four days after her release from the Shuanglongdong Station Hotel, Jinhua City.

Ms. Shao, who practices Falun Gong, was arrested on June 2, 2015 by police officers and 610 Office staff. Her home was ransacked and a printer, computer and Falun Gong informational materials were confiscated. She was taken to the Shuanglongdong Station Hotel in Jinhua City.

Ms. Shao was detained on June 9. She became unwell on June 16, and was given injections of unknown drugs for seven days. Her body began to swell and she could no longer walk unaided. Officers released her on medical parole on July 8.

She died in the morning of the fourth day after her release.

Her family suspects foul play during her detention, as Ms. Shao was of good health at the time of her arrest. They have held discussions with the Lanxi City Police Department and Procuratorate, and Jinhua City Police Department and Procuratorate.

Ms. Shao's family hired a lawyer and demands to be given the videos taken during Ms. Shao's interrogation and detention. No further information is available at this time.
