Officers Use Unnecessary Force to Arrest Ms. Liang, 78

April 14, 2015 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Heilongjiang Province, China

(Minghui.org) Ms. Liang Guifen, a 78-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, was illegally arrested again at home by 12 police officers on March 30, 2015. During the arrest, her head and arms were severely injured. The police ransacked her home and confiscated eight smart phones, Falun Gong books, MP3, and other personal items.

Ms. Liang is from Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province. She was taken to the Domestic Security Division of the Qingan County Police Department and interrogated. The police asked her about the source of the confiscated smart phones and from where she got technical assistance. Instead of replying to their questions, she told them about the persecution of Falun Gong.

The police took Ms. Liang to a hospital for a physical before taking her back to Suihua City. The doctor said that Ms. Liang needed to be hospitalized immediately because she had a serious heart problem and high blood pressure, so the police had to leave her in the Qingan County Police Department that day.

The next day, the Qingan County Domestic Security Division informed Ms. Liang’s family that she would be released on medical parole. She was released on April 2, 2015.

Ms. Liang has been arrested several times since the Chinese Communist Party started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999.
