(Minghui.org) Ms. Chu Lianrong from Fengning Manchu Autonomous County suffered a mental collapse while detained for more than three months. She died on April 12, 2015, 19 days after her release, at the age of 50.
Ms. Chu was arrested on December 13, 2014 for hanging banners with information about the persecution of Falun Gong. Fengning police officers notified her brother to take her home on March 24, 2015, claiming that she was on a hunger strike.
Ms. Chu was emaciated, could not lift her head, and had several injuries on her face. She could not eat, drink, talk, or open her eyes. Her body tensed when she was touched. She did not respond to her family, as if she could not hear anything. She sometimes exhibited anger and looked extremely pained.
For practicing Falun Gong, Ms. Chu had twice been sent to a forced labor camp for three years each time. She was then imprisoned for seven years and released on September 17, 2014.
