(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, at least 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, 3 practitioners were illegally arrested, 22 practitioners were tried, and 4 practitioners were sentenced.

1. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Suzhen and Her Husband Detained

Ms. Li Suzhen and her husband Mr. You were arrested at the Shouguang Bus Station on April 1, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were detained at the Shouguang Detention Center. Mr. You was later released and Ms. Li was taken to the Weifang Detention Center.

2. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Wu Daomin Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wu Daomin was arrested by officers from the Hetang District Police Department in Zhuzhou City on October 27, 2014. She was tried and sentenced to a two-year prison term on March 25, 2015.

3. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Xingwei Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Yang Xingwei, from Suning County, was arrested by officers from the Chengguan Police Station on November 9, 2014. She was sentenced to a six-month prison term by the Cangzhou City Intermediate Court on March 20, 2015.

4. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Mr. Wang Guangyue Imprisoned

Mr. Wang Guangyue, sentenced to a three-year prison term, appealed his case, but the Intermediate Court upheld the original verdict without a trial. He was taken to Suzhou Prison.

5. [Shanghai] Ms. Cao Yueling Arrested

Ms. Cao Yueling was recently arrested by officers from the Laoximen Police Station.

6. [Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Dong Li and Mr. Yan Jingen in Police Custody

Mr. Dong Li and Mr. Yan Jingen, from Shanhe Town, Wuchang City, were arrested in Xinglong Village, Yushu City on April 2, 2015, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are detained at the Yushu City Domestic Security Division.

7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fu Hui in Critical Condition

Ms. Fu Hui, from Harbin City, was sentenced to a three year and six month prison term. She has been held at the Shenyang Detention Center for two years, and the persecution she experienced seriously damaged her physical health. She is now very weak. She was transferred to the Luobei Prison in Shenyang City on March 24, 2015. She is currently in critical condition.

8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Ronghua Mistreated in Prison

Ms. Liu Ronghua, 47, a former associate professor of the Dalian Fishery College, was sentenced to a ten-year prison term by the Zhongshan District Court in Dalian City on April 1, 2012. She was taken to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison on July 10, 2012. She is currently detained in the fourth division of the No. 1 Ward. She is very weak and often her lower back is in pain due to being mistreated.

9. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Eight Practitioners Tried

Zhangwan District Court held a joint trial of eight Falun Gong practitioners on March 24. The practitioners were arrested between June and August in 2013, and some of them were tortured while in detention. Ms. Zhu Chunmei's teeth were broken as a result.

The other seven practitioners are: Wang Dongmei, Zhao Jiali, Zeng Hairong, Xiong Yuqin, Wang Yue, Tang Rongying, and He Zhihong.

10. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ren Xiuqin's Arrest Approved

Ms. Ren Xiuqin's husband was notified on March 25, 2015 that the local procuratorate has formally approved his wife's arrest warrant, which means that she faces trial. Ms. Ren, a Falun Gong practitioner living in Hushitai Town, was seized only two weeks ago on her way to the hospital to care for her ailing father.

11. [Fumeng County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Guozhen Appeals Her Illegal Sentence

Ms. Zhang Guozhen was sentenced to three years and two months in prison by the Fumeng County Court in late March, 2015, for distributing materials which had information about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is appealing the sentence to the intermediate court.

12. [Bozhou City, Anhui Province] Fourteen Practitioners Tried

Qiaocheng District Court tried 14 Falun Gong practitioners in a joint trial held on March 30, 2015. They were all arrested in September 2013 and are being held in Bozhou City Detention Center.

The practitioners were tortured while in detention. Ms. Zhu Fengmin has lost vision in both eyes. Ms. Li Dongmei's arm was injured during a beating. Ms. Bai Jie has trouble speaking after being abused.

Mr. Zhu Fengjun and Mr. Wang Shoulue were taken to a confinement cell a few days before the trial, and kept there for more than 20 hours. The guards covered their heads with bags and force-fed them some unknown yellowish fluid. They both became disoriented afterwards.

Mr. Wang Shoulue's blood pressure shot up to 220 on the day of the trial. The judge excused him from the hearing upon his lawyer's insistence.
