Some Thoughts on Filing Criminal Complaints Against Jiang Zemin

June 24, 2015

(Minghui.org) I would like to share three thoughts on filing criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin.

First, the complaints should show that Dafa disciples live by Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Each plaintiff should carefully prepare the documents wholeheartedly, rather than just going through the motions. Each document we submit should be accurate and supported by factual evidence.

The purpose of suing Jiang is to save people. The starting point should come from the compassion in our hearts. So, we should not mix in any attachments to revenge or hatred. What we are doing is for others and a selfless act.

Filing these complaints is a peaceful, rational process. We will have to break through all kinds of obstacles set by the different levels of government, but we should have the heart of forbearance when we do it. No one but a Dafa cultivator can do this with a heart of forbearance.

This is an honor given to us by Master, and countless sentient beings at different levels are counting on us. We should cherish this chance and conduct ourselves with righteous thoughts and righteous actions.

Our actions are providing a reference for people of the future. What we leave them with should be the most righteous way, and should manifest the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Second, filing complaints against Jiang will help to rectify and establish a legal precedent for the future. There are cases in history where new laws and legal principles were created as new forms of evil came into being. One such example was the Nuremberg trials against Nazi war criminals, which established a precedent for their crimes against humanity, and they were referenced later in other cases.

Many of Jiang Zemin and the Communist Party's crimes during the persecution do not fall into the existing legal framework, and our efforts could lead to new legal ground. Meanwhile, suing Jiang also gives a chance to those in China's legal system to save themselves.

Third, we need to provide sufficient evidence in our complaints.

For example, if we sue Jiang for libel, we should present how Jiang Zemin called Falun Dafa a “cult” in a published interview with the French newspaper Le Figaro in 1999.

We also need to give enough evidence to show what Jiang said was indeed slanderous. This is where we need to tell people about what Falun Dafa really is. Everybody can tell his or her own story of how they benefited physically and spiritually from practicing Falun Dafa, and how Falun Dafa has positively impacted society.

In this sense, filing a complaint amounts to clarifying the truth and exposing the persecution. In doing so, the evidence we provide should be detailed and reliable. Every step in this process is an opportunity to expose the persecution.

We are filing these complaints against Jiang out of compassion, and our ultimate purpose is to expose the persecution and save sentient beings.

The above are my own understandings. Please correct me with compassion if I said anything improper.
