Details of Two Falun Gong Practitioners Who Submitted Copies of Lawsuits Against Jiang Zemin to Minghui

July 18, 2015

(Minghui.org) Many Falun Gong practitioners are now exercising their legal right to sue Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of Falun Gong and causing them great harm and tremendous suffering during the past 16 years.

After mailing their lawsuits to the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate (which are now required to process all criminal complaints, per a recent ruling by the Supreme People's Court), many practitioners also send copies of their complaints to the Minghui website.

Of the many received by Minghui on July 10, 2015, one was from a prosecutor with Linghai City People's Procuratorate, who was fired by his employer and repeatedly arrested, and another was a retired vice principal of an art school, who was detained and forced to do manual labor. She and her son were harassed several times.

Mr. Li Yiqiang (李义强)

Profession: ProsecutorHometown: Linghai City, Liaoning ProvinceDate filed: July, 2015

Key FactsMr. Li was detained for 45 days and fired from his job for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in February 2000.

He was detained for 15 days in December 2001. He was barbarically force-fed five times and nearly suffocated when the plastic tube was inserted into his trachea.

Mr. Li was also interrogated, beaten, and had his home ransacked.

A police officer stopped him on June 18, 2003, took him to the police station, and interrogated him. The police hit him on his shoulders and back, leaving him bruised and barely able to lift one arm. He was released later that day after police raided his home, where they found no evidence to charge him.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the 610 Office, on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
