(Minghui.org) A total of 143 Falun Gong practitioners from Wangdu County, Hebei Province have filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin between May 24 and late July, 2015, according to reports compiled by the Minghui website.
The practitioners charge the former Chinese dictator with initiating the brutal suppression of Falun Gong and hold him responsible for the tremendous suffering inflicted upon them by his campaign. The criminal complaints were mailed to the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate.
Many of these practitioners recounted how Falun Gong returned them to health and gave them a new outlook on life. Their dream to live a healthier and happier life, however, was shattered when Jiang Zemin launched a nationwide campaign to eradicate the practice in 1999.
Simply for refusing to give up their belief, these law-abiding citizens were arrested, detained, tortured, and had their homes ransacked and personal belongings seized by the communist authorities. Many also saw their families implicated for their belief, while some were also forced to pay huge fines.
The Wangdu practitioners who filed criminal complaints include local farmers and retired teachers.
Below, we profile some of these practitioners:
Mr. Guo Huiqiang (郭会强), a 21-year-old university graduate, was detained in Baoding Forced Labor Camp, where he was beaten, shocked with electric batons, deprived of sleep, and forced to do long hours of slave labor. He was also injected with nerve-damaging drugs and lost much of his mental function as a result.
“When we went to visit him, he was laughing, crying, talking nonsense, and had become completely mad! The persecution ruined our whole family!” said his father in his complaint.
Ms. Tai Yulong (台玉龙), a hairdresser, was beaten to death just seven days after she was arrested in 2001.
Ms. Liu Qiaozhen (刘巧珍), a 53-year-old farmer, was detained four times and twice sent to forced labor for a total of four years and seven months. She suffered cruel torture during her detention, including severe beatings and cigarette burns.
Ms. Li Junhua (李军花) and Mr. Hu Jinbiao (胡金彪) were a young couple when the persecution started. The couple and their parents were repeatedly detained and tortured for practicing Falun Gong. Two days after they left home to avoid further persecution, Ms. Li's mother passed away due to unbearable anxiety and fear. Mr. Hu was later sentenced to three years of forced labor and tortured. He became very thin and could hardly walk when he was released.
Ms. Xiao Xiuchi (肖秀池), a 62-year-old farmer from Heibao Township, was taken to Wangdu Detention Center from her home by police in October 2002. She was detained there for seven months before being given one year of forced labor in Baoding Forced Labor Camp. She was often hung up and cuffed to a chair for refusing to renounce her belief. Her face and hands were badly swollen from being assaulted and cuffed.
Ms. Wang Huanyi (王焕义) is a 68-year-old farmer. She was arrested and taken to the local police station in early 2000. The next day, she was taken to the local Chinese Communist Party school and detained there for seven days. Her family was extorted for 3,000 yuan before she was released. She was harassed again by police while working in her corn fields on August 13, 2008. Her house was ransacked in the late afternoon, and she lost consciousness after being kicked by police officers. For the last 16 years, Ms. Wang and her family have been constantly harassed and subjected to enormous anxiety and mental torment.
In addition to the above practitioners, the following have also filed criminal complaints:
Mr. Guo Derun (郭德润), farmer, Mr. Guo Huiqiang's fatherMs. Li Lingyuan (李令元), 65, retired teacherMr. Zhou Baodong (周宝东), Ms. Tai Yulong's husbandMs. Guo Aiqing (郭爱卿), farmer
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law now allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
