Ms. Fu Rufang Harassed after Suing Chinese Jiang Zemin

Sept. 20, 2015 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Chongqing, China

(Minghui.org) Thousands of Falun Gong practitioners from around the world have joined the wave of people filing lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese communist regime. More than 160,000 criminal complaints were filed between the end of May and the end of August, according to the Minghui website.

Not all complainants escape harassment, arrest, or detention, however, and some practitioners in Chongqing were harassed by local authorities after they mailed their lawsuits. Ms. Fu Rufang is one of them.

Ms. Fu filed a criminal complaint with the Supreme Court via express mail on June 26, 2015. The Supreme Court signed and sent a confirmation letter to Ms. Fu on June 28.

Several officers, including Li Hengyi (李恒毅) from the Tongnan Domestic Security Division and Li Dahong (李大红) from the Zhengxingjie Police Station went to Ms. Fu’s home on the morning of September 1, 2015. They left because she was not at home at the time.

That afternoon, Li Henyi, Li Dahong, and two female staff members from the community office returned to Ms. Fu’s home. They claimed that they needed to verify the contents of Ms. Fu’s complaint filed on June 26 about suing Jiang, so they could report back to the Supreme Court.

They interrogated Ms. Fu with a list of questions:

“Did you write the criminal complaint letter by yourself?”
“Did anyone order you to do it?”
“Who told you to write it?”
“Why did you want to sue Jiang Zemin?”
“Who told you what to write? Provide their name and address.”
“Is there any systematic arrangement for suing Jiang Zemin?”
“Where did you print out the complaint letter?”
“Where did you mail the complaint letter?”
“Did you ask someone else to mail it for you?”
“Do you know anyone else who has filed a complaint?”

Li Dahong took notes while Ms. Fu was interrogated.

“I wrote and mailed the criminal complaint myself,” Mr. Fu replied. “No one organized it. I would rather not reply to some of your questions, because it might harm you. I need to put myself in your shoes.”

Ms. Fu said that she had been severely persecuted by Jiang's regime and definitely wanted to sue him. She also said that she did not understand what was going on with the Supreme Court, because, by law, they were supposed to deal with her complaint instead of returning it to those who were carrying out the persecution.

Ms. Fu also told Li Dahong about the persecution of Falun Gong and encouraged him to quit the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations. Li Dahong ordered Ms. Fu to sign his written report, but she refused, so Li told the two women from the community office to sign it and give their fingerprints.

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, then head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has killed countless Falun Gong practitioners during the past 16 years. Many have been murdered for their organs. Others have been imprisoned and tortured for their belief. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of this brutal persecution.

Under Jiang's direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security force, the 610 Office, on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides the police and judicial system. The 610 Office carries out Jiang's directive to eradicate Falun Gong: ruin practitioners' reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Jiang stepped down as head of the CCP in 2002, but he has exerted much power from the shadows through a network of officials he put in place.

Chinese law now allows citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
