(Continued from Part 2)

Beginning in the second grade in elementary school, Roson Yu, now a student at National Chi Nan University, had stomach problems and could only digest liquids. He saw a doctor every month and took medicine regularly.

Roson's mother started practicing Falun Gong when he was in the third grade. She taught it to Roson and his sister. Roson's stomach problem disappeared soon after he started to practice Falun Gong.

Sharing Benefit of Falun Gong with Classmates

Roson was shy, but he became much more sociable after he started cultivating himself. He told some of his classmates and teachers about Falun Gong and the persecution in mainland China. As high school graduation approached, Roson started to worry that others of his classmates still hadn't had a chance to learn about Falun Gong. He really wanted to tell everyone about its benefits.

One day, his Citizenship class teacher invited Roson to share his experience of practicing Falun Gong with the class. He readily agreed and spoke so well that he surprised himself at how bold he could be in front of such a large group of people.

Thinking back on this experience, Roson said, “I have to thank Master for making my wish come true!”

Following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Made Roson a Good Student

Roson's mother stressed the development of her children’s character instead of their grades. She never evaluated them based on their grades.

Roson said, “Practicing Falun Gong helped me in my school work tremendously. When I was preparing for the standardized tests at the end of middle school, I made good use of my time so that I could both study and cultivate. I let go of my attachment to my score. Doing the Falun Gong exercises made me calm and able to think clearly, so I could really concentrate when I studied. I ended up scoring very high.”

Benefitting from following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, Roson was admitted to the high school and college of his choice. He keeps these principles in mind at all times, uses them to guide his behavior, and remains in a good cultivation state.

Seize Every Opportunity to Clarify Facts of Faun Gong

Roson was inspired by Nolan Kao, a graduate student who made a trip to Hong Kong in 2015 to clarify the truth. He decided to step forward to tell people in Hong Kong about Falun Gong, too.

With support from his mother, Roson joined the group to go to Hong Kong. On hot summer days, he carried piles of flyers, set up photo displays, and seized every moment to clarify the facts to everyone he could.

Crowds of tourists from China visit Hong Kong each day. Many stopped to study the photo display. Roson said, “I was concerned how people would view me at first and worried that they might think I was strange. But my second thought was: 'I'm here to tell them the facts. I can't let them have come all this way for nothing.’”

After letting go of his concerns, Roson started to work. He waited for people to finish reading the display. When they were about to leave, he would give them a Falun Gong flyer and talk to them about the persecution.

He was very encouraged when a couple of tourists decided to quit the Chinese Communist organizations after a short conversation. He also realized his initial concern was unnecessary, because Chinese tourists do want to know the facts about Falun Gong.

Roson, Nolan, and Terry went to take videos at Victoria Harbour a couple of days before their departure. They ran into three young men from China, who asked what the video was for. Roson and his friends told them they were making a film about Falun Gong.

They told them about Falun Gong and gave them information on how to break through the Internet firewall in China. One of the men from China eventually quit the Young Pioneers. The six young men became friends. They took pictures with each other, had breakfast together, and exchanged contact information.

Roson thinks his trip to Hong Kong was a significant breakthrough in his cultivation and would like to go again when he gets the chance.
