Dec. 28, 2016 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Hubei Province, China

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Suoxian was tried by the Dongxihu District Court in Wuhan City on December 6, 2016. Her attorney pleaded not guilty for her. The court has yet to announce its verdict.

Ms. Wang was arrested on March 22, 2016, while distributing Falun Gong informational materials, and taken to the Wujiashan Street Police Station.

Police officers at the station drew her blood and tried to force her to write a guarantee statement, promising to no longer practice Falun Gong. Ms. Wang refused to sign the statement or answer their questions. The police responded by violently beating the 65 year old woman.

During the two days that Ms. Wang was held at Wujiashan Street Police Station, police ransacked her home twice looking for Falun Gong materials. She was then taken to the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center on March 24.

Ms. Wang's family went to various departments to ask for her release. Cao Bin, head of Dongxihu District 610 Office, threatened to arrest Ms. Wang's sister, for appealing. He also threatened Ms. Wang's brother: “How dare you talk to me about the law? Don't think that I can't arrest you. I can get you arrested with one call.” He also threatened to have Ms. Wang's son fired from his job.

The police submitted Ms. Wang's case to the Dongxihu District Procuratorate on June 15. The Procuratorate filed a lawsuit against Ms. Wang on July 29.

Ms. Wang has been arrested many times since 1999 when the Chinese communist regime started the persecution against Falun Gong. She has been held in various brainwashing centers seven times. She has been beaten, deprived of sleep, and forced to watch and listen to materials that slander Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang, 65, is a retired employee of the Hydraulic Construction Company of Dongxihu Water Conservancy Bureau.
