(Minghui.org) A long trip can be a great opportunity to talk to people about Falun Dafa, and I'd like to share a few experiences I've had doing so.
I once took a ten-hour-long train trip, and sat in the middle seat, with a middle-aged lady sitting on my left, and a young fellow on my right. A mother and daughter and another middle-aged lady were sitting across from me. The lady across from me was wearing a leather coat, and she looked fairly wealthy.
The train departed at around 8:00 p.m. I chatted with everyone and learned that they were all going to the final stop. The wealthy-looking lady was fairly talkative. She said that she ran a gold mine and was on a business trip to the provincial capital. Although she didn't get a berth ticket she was considering upgrading her ticket later.
I realized that I should seize the time to clarify the facts to her. We chatted about the gold mine she ran, and I learned that she truly believed in Buddhas and gods. I then told her some stories about how good and evil are repaid in kind. I also mentioned cultivation.
The lady to my left joined our conversation. She turned out to be a lay Buddhist, and so were the mother and daughter. I told them stories from ancient times to the present, and it was therefore easy to tell them about Falun Dafa and why the persecution is wrong. They accepted everything I said. I helped them withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.
A few hours passed as we talked. The gold mine owner suddenly realized that she had forgotten to upgrade her seat. When she checked the time, it was after 11:00 p.m. Urged by the middle-aged lady on my left, she decided to stay with us.
We kept talking, and by 3:00 a.m. we had talked for about six hours. The middle-aged lady on my left was very excited and said she respected Dafa. She gave me her phone number and address, and hoped that we could keep in touch.
When we arrived at the final stop, we said goodbye to each other. The young man sitting on my right had been quietly listening to us, but he hadn't said anything. When we got off the train, I stayed near him. As soon as I mentioned withdrawing from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, he immediately agreed.
I once talked to a business owner for five hours on a long-distance bus ride.
This businessman was in his forties, and his business was very successful. He was also well-read and very confident. He felt he knew something about everything in the world. He had also heard about Falun Dafa and the persecution.
I discovered however, that he was just repeating the CCP propaganda. Therefore, he was somewhat confused and repeating lies mingled with some facts. At first, I had a hard time talking to him, and we began to argue. Eventually, our conversation turned into a debate.
After I calmed down, I realized that I hadn't eliminated my attachment to being competitive. When he repeated some of the CCP's propaganda, I began to quietly send forth righteous thoughts. When we reached another impasse in our discussion, I changed the topic.
My mind was very calm, and when I was on the Fa, Teacher began to strengthen me and give me wisdom. I felt my mind expand, becoming broader, and my thoughts clearer.
I immediately knew how to answer his many questions. We went from arguing to talking about seemingly irrelevant things, but we would switch back to talking about the persecution. Everything I said led back to the point I was trying to make.
During the process, I didn't need to think too much. I could truly feel that Teacher was doing all the work. I was only there to carry it out.
I felt his notions, that prevented him from listening to me, dissolve. He went from shouting to speaking quietly, to finally listening to me in full. He at last understood and withdrew from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
The whole trip lasted more than six hours. I realized afterward that except for the time we spent at the bus stops, we had talked for more than five hours.
Unfortunately, some of his notions had formed over decades, and could not be melted away within a few hours. I gave him software, however, to break through the Internet blockade, which he gladly accepted. I hoped that by reading news from outside China he would come to understand the true picture.
Whenever I take trips, I talk to the people sitting around me. I feel that these trips are “truth-clarification trips,” and a very fortunate chance for them to hear about Falun Dafa and the persecution. After we talk, several people often withdraw from the CCP. I know they will have bright futures!
I once talked to a nice young man about Falun Dafa. He received everything I said well, and he happily withdrew from the CCP. During our two-hour bus ride, I was able to talk to him about many things.
A beautiful piece of music was playing. One line of the lyrics was, “The end is about happiness.” I smiled when I heard this. I thought, “This young man who learned about Falun Dafa and withdrew from the Party surely has happiness waiting for him!”
