(Minghui.org) A Chongqing woman filed a lawsuit against former dictator Jiang Zemin in July 2015, holding him responsible for the death of her two daughters.
Ms. Yang Guozheng (杨国正) used to have a happy family, but it was torn apart after the persecution of Falun Gong started in July 20, 1999.
Her two daughters, Ms. Wang Jiqin (王积琴) and Ms. Wang Jifeng, (王积凤) passed away one after another in less than a year from the brutal torture experienced while held at labor camp.
Her non-practitioner husband, Mr. Wang Senlin, could not handle the harsh persecution and experienced severe psychological problems. He could not look after himself and passed away in February 2016.
The below is an account of Ms. Yang's suffering in these 16 years.
Ms. Yang was arrested numerous times between 1999 and 2004. She was first arrested with her two daughters and other practitioners when they were practicing in a school field. All were given a fine of 200 yuan. Her house was also ransacked several times.
On March 22, 2004, Ms. Yang and three practitioners were taken to a detention center for telling people about Falun Gong at a market. The police went to her house and confiscated several items, including the death certificate and items relating to her younger daughter's death.
The most recent arrest happened on December 22, 2013 when Ms. Yang was arrested for telling people about Falun Gong near her neighborhood. She was detained at the detention center for 10 days.
The police tried forcing her to write a guarantee statement and to copy three articles that defamed Falun Gong and its founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi.
She refused to cooperate and was met with a series of threats from the police. After returning home, her whole body was in pain and she started coughing. Her head felt stuffed up and her vision was blurred. These symptoms continue to this day.
Like Ms. Yang, her two daughters were arrested and detained at the detention center and labor camps. The brutal torture and the injection of unknown drugs at the labor camp later claimed their lives.
At the labor camp, the elder Ms. Wang was dragged to a room by a group of inmates and pinned on the floor. She was force-fed with an unknown drug as the inmates pinched her nose and covered her mouth. She almost suffocated before they released their hold. Her body later became swollen and she had difficulty walking.
The elder Ms. Wang was released on medical parole after she could not take care of herself. She later died on September 23, 2002 at the age of 29, leaving behind a five-year-old son.
The younger Ms. Wang was arrested and sentenced to one year in a labor camp in January 2001, after a person reported her to the police for telling people about Falun Gong.
She was subjected to brutal torture that included beatings, being forced to stand or squat, and running under the hot sun. She later wrote a guarantee statement when she could not endure the persecution, much to her later regret.
While detained, she developed ulcers on her body and prison guards forced her to take an unknown drug. She returned home in December 2001 and started vomiting blood and losing weight.
To avoid the persecution, she left home in 2003. After her health worsened, she checked into a hospital and remained there for ten days before she passed away at the age of 26 on August 13, 2003.
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
