(Minghui.org) A 57-year-old resident from Foshan City is suffering from high blood pressure, but her family wasn't allowed to visit her at Guangzhou Armed Police Hospital.
Ms. Yu Ruiming was arrested on April 12 after she filed a criminal complaint against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of Falun Gong that resulted in her past detentions. The police promised to release her on the same night, but that never happened.
Ms. Yu's family went to the police station two days later to request her release. They were told that she had been given criminal detention and transferred to Shiwan Detention Center the day before.
The family, however, never received the standard admission notice from the detention center. They went to the police station again on April 21 and learned that Ms. Yu had been sent to Guangzhou Armed Police Hospital after the detention center declined to admit her, citing high blood pressure.
The police prohibited Ms. Yu's family from seeing her at the hospital, and has also refused to provide an update on her condition. The family is understandably concerned about her well-being.
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law now allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
