(Minghui.org) The places where Chinese people can go to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) have increased from 1 to 11 in our area since we attended the 2008 New York Fa Conference.
Master said:
“They are afraid, as [the center] is a thorn in their side. The public presence of a "Party-Quitting Center," or a "center for quitting the wicked CCP," is an endless source of aggravation and exasperation for them. The fact is, it's a powerful place for destroying evil, and that is why they fear it.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2008 New York Conference”)
I started to help out at one of the sites in Chinatown in September 2008, and have participated in activities there for the past eight years. Initially, I only went there once a week, but then started going twice a week. I have helped many Chinese people quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
I encountered a lot of interference when I first started going there. For example, I once left home in the morning to go to the Quitting the CCP site. When I got back home, I found that the rice cooker and computer weren't working. I knew it was the old forces trying to prevent me from saving people. However, I continued working at the site for quitting the CCP and just ignored the old forces' interference.
Many miracles have occurred over the past eight years, which have made me firmly believe in Dafa and Master. I have come to know the power of Dafa and Master’s mighty virtue.
There was a yellow board at our booth that displayed the number of people who quit the CCP each week. However, on one occasion, the board went missing after we forgot to take it down at the end of the day. We were all concerned about this.
We looked within and asked Master for help. The display board was returned to us the following week. We didn't know who returned it, but we were very excited and appreciative of Master’s help.
Another time, we had five display boards at our booth. Many people came to read them, but one of the city council staff members told us to take the boards away. The other practitioners and I couldn't speak enough English to tell him why the boards were important, so we took them down.
We put the boards back up again the following week. The city worker then tried to grab the boards, but we didn't let him. The same man returned another day and took one of the boards away.
Our organizer asked me to go with another practitioner to City Hall to explain why we have the boards on display. That man apologized and returned the board after my colleague told him about Falun Dafa and the persecution in China.
He also told us about a particular area in the railway station where he thought our display boards could be more effective. We've displayed our boards there ever since.
We were once told that our large boards were not allowed to be displayed around our site. So our organizer bought smaller hand-held boards from Hong Kong. We also moved the location of our Quitting the CCP site closer to the nearby shops.
The shops had overhead canopies that provided shade and protection from the rain and wind. Many people went to shop there on the weekends, and the number of people quitting the CCP increased.
The two shops beside our site each had one salesperson. They tried all sorts of ways to drive us away, and even called the police twice to come and have us removed.
The police knew we were not causing any obstruction and explained to the salespeople that we were not interfering with their businesses. We knew it was Master helping us in order to save more people.
However, these two people later asked one of the city council members to move us away. The city council staff came by every week to make trouble for us. On the third week, he brought a camera to take pictures of our booth. But he probably realized that we were not intimidated by him, and eventually stopped coming.
Soon another city staff person came by. He was responsible for writing tickets for vehicles that were parked on the main street for over 15 minutes. He told me to leave and said that if I didn’t he would give me a $300 fine.
It was also during this time that I was mired in conflict with another practitioner. This practitioner had decided to work on her own to help people quit the CCP, rather than work together as a team. I was angry with her when I had to face the city council staff person alone. I was tired and felt bitter. I thought this practitioner, who had just come from China, still carried heavy influences of the Party culture.
I tried to understand why the practitioner was behaving like this. Yet, wasn’t it also indicating that I had a problem? I was also from China, and I would often show off in a way that was consistent with Party culture—that is, I behaved like a boss and felt that other people should listen to me. If my opinion was not taken seriously, I would be upset. Wasn’t this strong Party culture? Shouldn’t it be eliminated?
My resentment disappeared after I thought about this. I realized that I should be grateful to the practitioner for helping me to improve.
I also realized that the city council staff person was someone who needed to be saved. Otherwise, someday he might receive bad returns for trying to interfere with our saving of sentient beings. I then sent righteous thoughts to stop his actions.
He didn't come by again, and there was no further mention of a fine.
I realized that with profound conviction there is nothing Master that cannot do to help us.
Master said, “The cultivation is up to you, gong is up to the master.” (Zhuan Falun)
A young Chinese man kept being a nuisance at our site for a while. When I took out my cell phone to take his picture, he left straight away. We didn't see him again after that. Some other Chinese and even Westerners tried to make trouble, but we just ignored them and they soon left.
A Chinese man who was standing nearby said that the woman trying to interfere with us was probably a CCP spy. He thought that based on what she was saying to him about us. Some Westerners later came to our booth to get some of our information. That women was saying some untruthful and nasty words about us to them.
I took her picture on my cell phone. She seemed afraid as her hands were shaking. She told me to delete her picture. She spoke to her partner, and then they left. They didn’t come back.
Not many other practitioners came to help at our site, and sometimes I was there alone. I asked our coordinator if he could ask other practitioners to help me at the booth, but nothing materialized as they were probably busy on other projects.
Sometimes I stood there and would just think about Master’s Fa:
“When Dafa disciples validate the Fa, how come one person can do what it would take ten or a hundred people to do?” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Midwest-U.S. Fa Conference”)
I felt my body in another dimension become gigantic, and I could focus on the task of saving people with very good results. But sometimes my human notions would interfere.
For example, one day I thought about going shopping instead being at the booth to help people quit the CCP. I knew it was not a good thought and that I should sincerely try to help save people rather than be swayed by such ideas. But still, I thought that if I went to the restroom, I could buy a few things I needed on the way back to the booth.
A person soon tried to make trouble and reported me to the authorities. The city council staff person who used to give us trouble showed up when I was away from the booth.
I was shocked, as I realized ever more profoundly the seriousness of true cultivation. The old forces can sneak in whenever we are not in line with the Fa. I have to treat myself like a Falun Dafa practitioner at all times and in all places.
I have cultivated for nearly 20 years, but still experience sickness karma. Obviously, I still have human notions to cast off. I need to catch up during this critical period of time in order to save more people.
