(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According to this report, 20 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 11 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Yitong County, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Zhen Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Zhang Zhen was sentenced to two years in prison by the Yitong County Court. He was held in the Yitong Detention Center for four months before being transferred to the Gongzhuling Prison on May 3, 2016. Mr. Zhang looked frail and had difficulty hearing as he was getting into the police car.

2. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Chen Jianmei and other practitioners were arrested by officers from the Dongcheng Police Department on April 29, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.

Officers from the Jixia Police Station went to Ms. Zhang Yufen's and Ms. Zhang Rongrong's home and arrested them on April 18, 2016. They confiscated a computer, printer, and a copy of Zhuan Falun.

3. [Lanling County, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Wenyuan and Ms. Wu Shujuan Taken to Prison

Mr. Liu Wenyuan and Ms. Wu Shujuan were taken to the Jinan Prison.

4. [Chongqing] Mr. Zhang Xiaobo Detained

Mr. Zhang Xiaobo, from Gaotan Village, Fuhuan Town, Qijiang County, was arrested by plainclothes officers in early April 2016. He was taken to the Qijiang Detention Center.

5. [Guyuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Mr. Zhang Guoxian Arrested

Mr. Zhang Guoxian, 60s, was arrested by Yang Fuchun and other officers from the Guyuan City Domestic Security Division on April 26, 2016.

According to inside sources, a brainwashing center has been set up in Guyuan City.

6. [Tianjin] Ms. Liu Yufen Detained

Ms. Liu Yufen was transferred from the Balitai Police Station to a detention center.

7. [Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Ye Xiuping and Ms. Xu Guiqin Detained

Ms. Ye Xiuping, 61, a former employee of the Shaoguan People's Hospital, was arrested at home by State Security officers on April 21, 2016. She is held in the Shaoguan City Detention Center and denied family visits.

Ms. Xu Guiqin was arrested and her home ransacked by officers from the Zhenjiang District Domestic Security Division on October 19, 2015. She is not allowed family visits.

8. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shi Arrested

Ms. Shi from the Central Market was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the local police department and the Qianjin Police Department on the morning of May 4, 2016.

9. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Xu Xiaoping Arrested

Mr. Xu Xiaoping was arrested at home on the evening of April 29, 2016.

10. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Yong Detained

Mr. Wang Yong from the Funing District was arrested at home around April 25, 2016. Banners and informational materials with Falun Gong content were confiscated. Mr. Wang is held at the Funing District Detention Center.

11. [Yongshan County, Yunnan Province] Ms. Yan Lijia Arrested

Officers from the Yongshan County Police Department broke into Ms. Yan Lijia's home and arrested her. They confiscated a computer, printer and Falun Gong books. Ms. Yan's whereabouts are unknown.

12. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Chen Tingxiang Detained

Mr. Chen Tingxiang is held in the Guan County Detention Center.

13. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Chen Guizhen and Ms. Li Fazhen Detained

Dongchun District residents Ms. Chen Guizhen and Ms. Li Fazhen were arrested on March 28, 2016, for hanging up Falun Gong banners.

Ms. Chen was arrested and her home ransacked by officers from the Dongchuan District Domestic Security Division. She was taken to the Xincun Police Station and interrogated. She was also forced to get a physical examination, a fingerprint, and her photo taken. She was then transferred to the Dongchuan District Detention Center where she got another physical. Her picture and fingerprints were also taken. She was held for 15 days and released on April 12, 2016. After she returned home, her brother was threatened and intimidated by the Political and Legal Affairs Committee.

Ms. Li was arrested at work. The police drove to her home and ransacked it. She was then taken to the Xincun Police Station, interrogated, forced to get a physical examination, and her picture and fingerprints taken. She was transferred to the Dongchuan District Detention Center where she was interrogated, forced to get a physical and fingerprints taken. She was held there for 14 days and released on April 11, 2016.

14. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Tong Liyan Detained

Ms. Tong Liyan from Dongwa Township was arrested at work by officers from the Dongwa Township Police Station on April 29, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin. She is held in the Panjin City No. 3 Detention Center.

15. [Yichang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Facui Detained

Ms. Chen Facui was transferred to the Yichang City No. 1 Detention Center in the end of April 2016.

16. [Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Wu Rushan and Wife Arrested

Mr. Wu Rushan and his wife are from Wuji Town in the Huaiyin District. They were arrested at home by officers from the Huaiyin District Domestic Security Division and the Wuji Town Police Station on the evening of May 3, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin.

17. [Suining County, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Yang Junsong and Mr. Fu Xuesheng Detained

Mr. Yang Junsong from Gupi Town was arrested at the Tushan Town Farmers Market in Pizhou City by officers from the Zhancheng Town Police Station on April 7, 2016. His home was ransacked and all Falun Gong informational materials were confiscated. His family was notified the next day that Mr. Yang was taken to the Pizhou Detention Center and their fingerprints had to be taken.

Mr. Fu Xuesheng works at the Pizhou City Highway Management Station. He was on a business trip to Shanxi on April 11, 2016, when he was arrested by officers from the Xuzhou 610 Office. He was then taken to the Pizhou Detention Center. His home was ransacked and informational materials, a computer and cell phones were confiscated.

18. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Ms. Yu Zhaohai Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Yu Zhaohai from Qi County was tried for the second time on March 16, 2016, after being held in custody for five months. The hearing only took 10 minutes. Ten days later, the court secretly sentenced Ms. Yu to five years in prison. She has filed an appeal.

19. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioners Demoted and Their Wages Withheld

Ms. Lan Chao, 29, an employee at the No. 1 Branch of the Daqing Oilfield Transportation Company, was arrested at work on October 28, 2015, for suing Jiang Zemin and held for 15 days. The Daqing Oilfield Company 610 Office instructed her employer to withhold her salary and bonus for the month of October 2015, totaling 3,300 yuan. Her annual bonus of close to 10,000 yuan at the end of the year was also withheld.

Other Falun Gong practitioners who had filed a lawsuit against Jiang were either demoted or their salary withheld as punishment. Ms. Tan Xiumei and Ms. Wang Xiaohong each had over 10,000 yuan withheld from their salary. Ms. Wang Xiaoli from the No. 3 Daqing Hospital and Ms. Wang Lidan at the No. 2 Oil Production Plant were both demoted.
