(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 31 cities or counties in 14 provinces. According to this report, 18 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 21 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Gangfeng Detained

Mr. Liu Gangfeng from Dafengying Township in Shenzhou City was arrested by officers from the Chenshi Township Police Station while he was talking to people about Falun Gong at the Chenshi Farmer's Market on May 24, 2016. He was taken to the Shenzhou Detention Center.

2. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. He Suzhi Harassed

Ms. He Suzhi, 60, and another practitioner went to the countryside to talk to people about Falun Gong on May 6, 2016. They were stopped by two plainclothes officers on their way back. The officers took their bags and keys and took photos of them with their cell phones.

3. [Jimo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Shuqing Remains in Custody

Ms. Sun Shuqing was arrested on May 7, 2016, for telling people about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Jimo Detention Center for 15 days of detention. She was supposed to be released on May 24. However, her family learned the following day that 610 Office staff took her to the Pudong Detention Center.

4. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioner Che Remains in Custody

Practitioner Che is still held in custody at the Yuejin Village Police Station.

5. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Shi Lianru Detained

Mr. Shi Lianru was arrested by officers from the Yucai Police Station while distributing Falun Gong informational materials on September 20, 2015. He was held in the Guaibodian Detention Center. On May 19, 2016, when his family called the detention center to ask about him, officials told his family that he would be sentenced to prison.

6. [Beijing] Elderly Mr. Chen and Ms. Yang Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Chen and Ms. Yang, both in their 80s, from the Huairou District were arrested on the morning of May 3, 2016, while they were removing posters that slandered Falun Gong. Both are now in the Huairou District Brainwashing Center.

7. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Lu Yuying Arrested

Several officers from the Lanzhou City Domestic Security Division, the Anning District Domestic Security Division, and the Yintan Road Police Station broke into Ms. Lu Yuying's home on the morning of May 23, 2016. They ransacked the place and confiscated four printers, a computer, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings. The items were valued at over 20,000 yuan.

Ms. Lu was arrested and taken to the police station. She was released an hour later.

8. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Li Yuxia Harassed

About eight officials from the Anning District 610 Office, Anningbao Residential Community, and Shajingyi Police Station broke into Ms. Li Yuxia's home on May 10, 2016. They tried to force her to write a guarantee statement to not file any further lawsuits against Jiang Zemin.

9. [Kangping County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jia Shukun Taken to Prison

Yang Dongdong from the Kangping County Justice Bureau; Yu Haibin, director of the Haizhou Township Police Station; and other officers broke into Ms. Jia Shukun's home and arrested her on May 25, 2016. She was taken to the Shenyang Women's Prison.

10. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Baohua Arrested

Ms. Yu Baohua, about 50, from the Linzi District was arrested by officers from the Jixia Police Station while she was telling people about Falun Gong on May 24, 2016. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Yu was reported and followed previously, and the Falun Gong informational materials she carried were confiscated.

11. [Chongqing] Ms. Xu Yongxia's Whereabouts Unknown

Twelve people, including officers from the Shimahe Police Station in the Jiangbei District and neighborhood assistants on duty, went to Ms. Xu Yongxia's home late on May 24, 2016. They pried open her door with a metal tool, broke in, and arrested her. Her whereabouts are unknown.

12. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Pan Chengying Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Pan Chengying from the Lishui District was arrested at the school where she works by officers from the Lishui District 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division on May 18, 2016. She was taken to the Baima Brainwashing Center. The officers ransacked her home three times, and confiscated a large amount of cash and personal belongings.

13. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Xiangmin Detained

Mr. Zhang Xiangmin from the No. 4 Oil Production Field in the Linpan Oil Production Plant of Shengli Oilfield Company was arrested and taken to the Binhai Police Department on the morning of May 24, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. He was taken to the Dezhou Detention Center for five days of detention.

14. [Anqing City, Anhui Province] Mr. Peng Zhijiang Detained

Mr. Peng Zhijiang from Huaining County is a retired teacher in his 60s. He was arrested by officers from the Taihu County Domestic Security Division on the morning of May 24, 2016. They went to his son's home, where he lives, and ransacked the place. Mr. Peng is being held in the Taihu County Detention Center.

15. [Shanghai] Ms. Tu Ming Taken to Prison Hospital

Ms. Yu Ming was arrested by Changning District Domestic Security Division officers on May 9, 2016. She was held in the Changning District Detention Center. She was recently taken to the Shanghai Prison Hospital. Her case was transferred to the Changning District Procuratorate on May 13, 2016, and then to the Changning District Court on May 20, 2016.

16. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Xing Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Li Xing, an art teacher with the No. 2 Middle School, was sentenced to three years in prison on April 18, 2016, by the Fengcheng Court. The court did not notify the lawyers or her family. By the time her family was informed of the sentence on April 28, it was too late to appeal her sentence.

17. [Puning City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Peng Huisheng in Critical Condition

Mr. Peng Huisheng from Puning City and Mr. Li Ruixi from the Chaoyang District in Shantou City were arrested on April 6, 2015, for sending text messages with Falun Gong information. Both were taken to the Sanshui Detention Center the following day.

Mr. Peng developed severe high blood pressure and was taken to the Guangzhou City Armed Police Hospital on April 15, where he was given drugs. As a result of being forced to take these drugs, he suffered severe heart disease in addition to high blood pressure. He has been in critical condition since May 19, 2015. The Xinan Criminal Squadron officers issued an urgent notice to his family to take him home.

18. [Yichang City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Mingfang's Home Ransacked

Xu Hong and four plainclothes officers broke into 80-year-old Mr. Wang Mingfan's home on the morning of May 23, 2016. They asked Mr. Wang where the Falun Gong informational materials and calendars came from. When the officers did not get the answer they wanted, they ransacked the place and confiscated all his Falun Gong books, printed materials, and other personal belongings.

19. [Huidong County, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wen Yuequn Detained

Mr. Wen Yuequn was arrested and taken to the Shagongao Detention Center by officers from the Duozhu Police Station on May 19, 2016. The Domestic Security Division officers ransacked his home the following day.

20. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Zhensheng Arrested

Mr. Wang Zhensheng from Fuyu County was arrested by officers from the Nehe City Police Department and the Tiedong Police Station. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated two copies of Falun Gong books and his cell phone.

21. [Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Sheng Zhongliang Mistreated in Prison

Mr. Sheng Zhongliang was sentenced to three years and six months for distributing calendars that contained information about Falun Gong. He was held in the Zhejiang Province No. 4 Prison for 14 months. His wife went to visit him on May 21 and learned that he had high blood pressure, had no appetite, and was very thin. He also did not receive all the money his family sent him.

22. [Gucheng County, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Jianping Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wang Jianping from Gucheng Town was sentenced to four years in prison, and was transferred to the Jinan Prison on May 25, 2016. He was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on September 17, 2014. He had been held in the Dezhou City Detention Center.

23. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Mr. Duan Fei Arrested

Mr. Duan Fei was arrested at home by five officers from the Changqing Police Station on May 25, 2016. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun, a notebook computer, and three photos of the founder of Falun Gong.

24. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Lu Zhifan Detained

Mr. Lu Zhifan was arrested by officers from the Chaihe Police Department. He was held in the Chaihe Detention Center for 20 days. The officers confiscated his cell phone and notebook computer.

25. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Yuxin Arrested

Mr. Li Yuxin was arrested on May 25, 2016, for talking to people about Falun Gong.

26. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Xuanmei and Ms. Zeng Yuanxiang Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Li Xuanmei from Hongqiao Town and Ms. Zeng Yuanxiang from Wengjiang Town are held at the Pingjiang Brainwashing Center. The brainwashing center, which has been in operation near the Siyuan Elementary School in Beicheng Village, Chengguan Town, Pingjiang County, since May 20, 2016, is used to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. It was set up by the Pingjiang County Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the Pingjiang County 610 Office, and the Pingjiang Domestic Security Division.

Ms. Li Xiulan and Ms. Huang Lianzhen were arrested and taken to a brainwashing center.

28. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Chang Yu Detained

Ms. Chang Yu was held in the Nanyang City Detention Center.

29. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Liyang Arrested

Mr. Wang Liyang, 57, from Zhonglao Village, Xidayingzi Township, the Longcheng District, was arrested at work in the Lingyuan Steel Factory by several officers from the Chaoyang City Domestic Security Division on May 24, 2016.

30. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Shigang Detained

Mr. Li Shigang, 48, was arrested by Tuchengzi Police Station officers in the Longtan District on May 20, 2016. The officers strangled his neck and mouth with a rope, stuffed his mouth with a towel, handcuffed him so tightly that the handcuffs cut into his flesh, and put a black hood over his head. He was taken to the police station and held in a cage overnight. He was taken to the Jilin Detention Center on May 13 for 15 days.

31. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Li and Ms. Tang Jianying Taken to Prison

Ms. Li Li and Ms. Tang Jianying were taken to the Shijiazhang Women's Prison on May 16, 2016.

Between November 9 and 12, 2015, the Yunhe District Court held hearings for Ms. Li, Ms. Tang, and seven other practitioners. It was learned on December 30, 2015 that Ms. Li was sentenced to six years in prison and Ms. Tang to one year and eight months in prison.

Ms. Li has appealed to the Cangzhou City Intermediate Court, which upheld the original sentence on April 29, 2016.

32. [Mengzhou City, Henan Province] Five Practitioners Detained

Ms. Hao Erhong from Huaishu Township was arrested by officers from the Mengzhou City Domestic Security Division and the 610 Office in May 2016. She is being held in the Mengzhou City Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang Neng and Ms. Hao Yun were taken to the Jiaozuo Detention Center. Ms. Cui Shuangli and Mr. Cui Zhengyin were taken to the Mengzhou Brainwashing Center.

33. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yan Xiuqin Arrested

Ms. Yan Xiuqin was arrested by about six officers from the Buzhuang Town Police Station on the morning of May 14, 2016, for telling others about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Changyi Detention Center that afternoon and examined against her will in the city hospital. Her son took her home that afternoon.
