Chongqing Man on Hunger Strike to Protest Prison Sentence for His Faith

June 2, 2016 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Chongqing

(Minghui.org) A Chongqing entrepreneur has been on a hunger strike since April 1 of this year. Mr. Liu Daoquan is protesting his prison sentence for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese Communist regime.

Mr. Liu, who owns a parts company, was arrested on April 9, 2013 and sentenced to eight years on October 16, 2014.

His younger brother visited him on May 20 of this year and saw him lying in bed and appearing to be very weak. Mr. Liu said the guards refused to address his concern of being unjustly sentenced, and instead force-fed him every day.

Mr. Liu’s family calls for kindhearted people to help seek his release, as he broke no law by exercising his constitutional right to freedom of belief.
