(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 16 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 20 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Lijun and Mr. Zhao Hanrong Tried

Ms. Wang Lijun, from the Fengtai District, has been held in custody for over four months. She was tried at the No. 3 Court of the Fengtai District Court on January 25, 2016. Two lawyers pleaded not guilty on her behalf. No judgment was made during the trial. Mr. Zhao Hanrong was tried at the same place on the same day.

2. [Xiantao City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested; Three Displaced

Several officers from the Jianghan Oilfield Police Department, the Xiantao City Police Department, the Longhuashan Police Station, the Ganhe Police Station, and the Sanfutan Police Station broke into six practitioners' homes in Xiantao City on the morning of April 13, 2016.

Mr. Liu Xiong, Mr. Hu Fengcheng, and Ms. Yang Dongmei were arrested. Mr. Liu Jun, Mr. Mao Yixiang, and Mr. Zhang Yuzhi were forced to leave town.

Mr. Hu Fengcheng was first taken to the Banqiao Brainwashing Center in Wuhan City, and then transferred to the Qianjiang Detention Center. All three practitioners are being held at the Qianjiang Detention Center.

3. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Ding Hansen Detained

Mr. Ding Hansen, a fifth-grade teacher at the Central Elementary School in Yangkou Town, was transferred to the Shouguang Detention Center from the Shouguang Brainwashing Center by officers from the Shouguang Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of May 25, 2016.

4. [Chongqing] Ms. Li Shangbi Harassed

Ms. Li Shangbi was harassed numerous times for suing former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin. Yuan, head of the Dingshan Residential Community in Jiangjin District and Li Zhengquan, from the Changfeng Residential Community, went to Ms. Li's home on the morning of May 17, 2016, and tried to force her to write three statements. They threatened her that if she did not write it, she would be taken to the Chongqing Brainwashing Center.

5. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Five Practitioners Detained

Eleven practitioners were studying Falun Gong teachings in Ms. Ma Jie's home on the afternoon of May 10, 2016. They were arrested by more than twelve officers from the Qindu Police Department and the Xilan Road Police Station. They were taken to the Xilan Road Police Station.

The officers ransacked Ms. Ma's home and confiscated Falun Gong informational DVDs, display boards containing information about lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong, and stickers with words that celebrated May 13 World Falun Dafa Day.

The officers interrogated the 11 practitioners and took written notes. Six practitioners were released that night.

The following day, Ms. Ma Jie (62 years old), her younger brother Mr. Ma Minghai (60 years old), Ms. Li Xiaoli (60 years old), Mr. Zhang (in his 40s), and Ms. Hu (in her 50s) were taken to the Wujiabao Detention House in the Qindu District. After 15 days of detention, they were transferred to the Wujiabao Detention Center on May 25.

Mr. Sun Xue, 60, a national second-class disabled soldier, was arrested at home by officers from the Zhongxin Police Station on the evening of May 27, 2016. He was taken to the Bayan Detention Center for 10 days of detention.

10. [Chibi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yang Zhenhuan Arrested

Several officers from the Chibi City 610 Office, using the excuse that they were inspecting housing, knocked on the door of Ms. Yang Zhenhuan's home on the morning of May 27, 2016. Without showing any identification cards, they forced their way into the room and arrested Ms. Yang. She is being held in the Chibi City Police Department.

11. [Juancheng County, Shandong Province] Five Practitioners Harassed

More than twelve officers from the Juancheng County Domestic Security Division harassed five practitioners in Wanghuzhuang Village on April 9, 2016. The five practitioners are: Ms. Dong Lizhen, Ms. Nie Xiuxiang, Ms. Chen Meige, Ms. Chen Sanmei, and Ms. Wang Yanli.

12. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Zhaojie Arrested

Mr. Wang Zhaojie, 60, was arrested at home around May 24, 2016.

13. [Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Taken to Prison

Mr. Zhang Yi, Mr. Liao Ancai, and Ms. Guo Bing were taken to prisons located outside of town on May 23. Mr. Zhang and Ms. Guo were taken to the Longquanyi Prison in Chengdu City, and Mr. Liao to Leshan City Prison.

14. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Three Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Sun Hexiang, Ms. Shen Xiaohui, and Ms. Li Meiying were arrested at home on May 25, 2016, by local police officers, members of the neighborhood administration office, and residential committee staff. They were taken to a brainwashing facility located at the Xishange Guesthouse in the Jiaokou Reservoir in the Yinzhou District.

15. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Ruan Yuqing Arrested

Huang Zuhua, head of the Chikan District 610 Office, led five people, from the residential community and the police station, to 62-year-old Ms. Ruan Yuqing's home on the afternoon of May 21, 2016. They forced their way in, and questioned Ms. Ruan about her lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. They ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, some informational booklets, a cell phone, and other personal belongings. Ms. Ruan was taken to a brainwashing facility located at the Xiashanxincun Drug Rehabilitation Center. She was later released due to high blood pressure.

16. [Xiangyang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Ying Arrested

Ms. Li Ying and her one-year-old grandson were strolling down the street on the morning of May 26, 2016. They were stopped by plainclothes police officers who were staked out there. She was taken to the Shaoming Police Station in the Xiangcheng District. The officers dragged her, which resulted in fracture in her foot bone fracture. She was released two hours later.

17. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Kong Jiuhong and Ms. Fang Zongju Detained

Ms. Kong Jiuhong and Ms. Fang Zongju were arrested by officers from the Yandian Town Police Station when they talked to people about Falun Gong on May 25, 2016.

Shen Wenbo, head of the Domestic Security Division, and Zhou Honghai, a police officer, stole Ms. Kong's keys and ransacked her home. The police confiscated Falun Gong books, printed materials, a desktop computer, two printers, a paper cutter, over 5,000 yuan in cash, and other personal belongings.

Both practitioners are being held in the Anlu Detention Center.
