(Minghui.org) A new college graduate from the University of Science and Technology of China was denied admission to his alma mater’s graduate school. Months later, he was arrested and is now facing criminal charges.

Mr. Guo Jiayu was targeted because he refuses renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.

Mr. Guo passed the graduate school entrance exam with high marks in January of this year, but the local authorities forced his university to deny his admission. He appealed but was still rejected.

He was arrested on June 16 and transferred to Hefei City Detention Center two days later. His parents went to visit him, but were turned away. The guards said that Mr. Guo is facing criminal charges for producing and distributing DVDs bearing information about the persecution of Falun Gong.
