Former Heilongjiang Nurse Struggles to Make a Living upon Recent Prison Release

Sept. 6, 2016 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Heilongjiang Province

(Minghui.org) A former nurse in Linkou County has struggled to make a living since her release from prison on June 15 of this year.

Ms. Wang Guiling was fired from her job in late 2013 after she was sentenced to 4 years for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.

Linkou County Forest Bureau Hospital refused to reinstate her upon her release. The local authorities also denied her the low-income subsidy to which she was entitled.

Ms. Wang’s identification documents was confiscated when the persecution began in July 1999. Sun Zhongmin, head of the Linkou County Domestic Security Division, promised to give her I.D. back upon her release, but it never materialized.

Ms. Wang’s repeated request to have her I.D. returned went nowhere, as Sun used various excuses to avoid her.

Without an I.D., Ms. Wang cannot find a full-time job and has to do odd jobs to make ends meet.
