(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Jun filed a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin in June 2015, after which local police officers and community agents began to harass her. After hearing what she had been subjected to during years of persecution, however, they departed and no longer targeted her.
A female police officer from Dashiba Police Station in Chongqing went to visit the 72-year-old Ms. Zhang on September 19, 2016. Without showing any identification and not stating the purpose of the visit, the officer asked Ms. Zhang for her name and phone number. She then asked her to sign an inexplicit piece of paper.
Ms. Zhang refused to answer or comply, stating she had no right to demand her personal information.
The officer got angry and told Ms. Zhang that someone else from the police department would soon visit her.
A few days later on September 22, several local community agents appeared at Ms. Zhang's house. Ms. Zhang did not answer her door.
Officer Yang Zhiyong and another female officer from Dashiba Police Station again went to Ms. Zhang's home on December 27, 2016. Ms. Zhang kept the officers outside her door while she spoke with them.
The officers wanted to know who helped her write her complaint against Jiang Zemin, which she had filed with the Supreme Procuratorate and the Supreme Court. They also demanded to know why she did it.
Ms. Zhang told them that she wrote the complaint herself, reminding them that article 36 of China's constitution gives citizens the freedom of belief. She said that she had practiced Falun Gong for 24 years, following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in all her actions. Practicing, she said, helped her recover from over 20 health problems and that she practiced Falun Gong to be a person of higher moral character.
She further explained that because Jiang Zemin launched a persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, she was arrested and taken to a forced labor camp in 2008—when she was 60. There she was beaten and shocked with electric clubs every day.
Samples of her blood were taken, which she learned were used to determine her suitability as an involuntary organ donor.
Also, the police beat her son and caused him to become mentally disordered. He remains in a psychiatric hospital.
Ms. Zhang asked the officers, “So you tell me: Should I sue Jiang Zemin or not?”
Officer Yang was stunned. He said, “You are brainwashing us. Why don't you just do whatever you want?”
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other members of the Politburo Standing Committee and launched a violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. Many more have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their vital organs.
Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution. Under his personal order, the Communist regime established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization, on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive to ruin the reputation of Falun Gong, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows its citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
