(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 14 were illegally arrested.

1. [Huaibei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhou Hongzhi Passed Away Due to Persecution

Ms. Zhou Hongzhi, who was born in 1957, passed away at the Huaibei City No. 2 Detention Center in October 2009. She was retired from the Huaibei City Materials Bureau.

Ms. Zhou was arrested by Zhang Ruwei and other officers from the Huaibei City 610 Office in late August 2008. She was taken to the Dahua Guesthouse, which was leased by the 610 Office, where she was deprived of sleep for eight days. She was then taken to the Huaibei City Detention Center, where she was forced to do slave labor, including pasting boxes together and making lanterns. She was not allowed to eat or rest if she did not finish her quota. She was interrogated and tried numerous times. She was under tremendous pressure both physically and mentally.

2. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Mr. Sun Xianting Arrested

Mr. Sun Xianting was arrested on January 4, 2017. He was reported for posting Falun Gong materials, and taken to the Laozhan Police Station. He is released on bail.

3. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Dongchang Police Department, the Domestic Security Division, the Longquan Police Station, the Xinzhan Police Station, and the Minzhu Police Station staked out and arrested several practitioners on December 29 and December 30, 2016.

Ms. Zhang Chunsheng was arrested. Her computer, several cell phones, and Falun Gong books were confiscated. Ms. Wang Juan is a nanny. Her cell phone and books were confiscated. Both practitioners are from the Longquan area. Ms. Feng Xianzhi and Ms. Liu Yumei, from the Minzhu area, also had their computers, several cell phones, and Falun Gong books confiscated. Ms. Wei from the Jiangdong area was arrested. They are being held in the Tonghua Detention Center.

Ms. Liu, nearly 80 years old, from the Xinzhan area, was arrested on her way to the grocery store. The officers took her back home and ransacked the place. The elderly lady is under house arrest.

4. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Cao Naixin Given a Two-Year Prison Term

Ms. Cao Naixin, 65, retired from the Naxi Silk Factory, was arrested in mid-April 2016, and taken to the Luzhou Detention Center. It was reported that she was sentenced to two years in prison.

Ms. Cao has been arrested numerous times, and had her home ransacked many times. She was sentenced twice to forced labor. She was on the verge of mental breakdown as a result of brutal torture when she was imprisoned.

5. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhao Shuzhen and Daughter Ms. Wei Wenying Arrested

About twelve officers from the Quanchenglu Police Station broke into the home of Ms. Zhao Shuzhen and her daughter Ms. Wei Wenying on the afternoon on January 8, 2017. They ransacked the place and took video recordings. They confiscated all the Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a computer, a printer, printer paper, and about 8,000 yuan in cash. They also went to Ms. Zhao's daughter's home to ransack and video tape. Both mother and daughter are being held in the Quanchenglu Police Station.

6. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Chengmei Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Song Chengmei, who was forcibly displaced, was arrested by officers from the Zhucheng Domestic Security Division on September 12, 2016, and taken to the Weifang Detention Center. She was tried by the Weifang Court on the morning of November 25, 2016, and sentenced to one year in prison with one and a half years of probation.

7. [Nantong City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Shen Yuli Arrested

Ms. Shen Yuli was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on December 30, 2016.

8. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Liang Yunying Given a Five-Year Prison Term

Ms. Liang Yunying was sentenced to a five-year prison term.

9. [Huaiyang City, Henan Province] Five Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Zheng Xianjin, his wife Ms. Wang Haomei, Mr. Niu Hongqi, Ms. Ding Xufang, and Ms. Lu Guiying were arrested by officers from the Huaiyang Domestic Security Division on July 3, 2016. The five practitioners were tried and each received a five-year prison term from the Chengxiguan Court on December 22, 2016.

10. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] Mr. Zhang Zhihe Given a Three-Year Prison Term

Mr. Zhang Zhihe from Dongzhi Town, Xifeng District, was given a three-year prison term by the Ning County Court on December 24, 2016. He was taken to the Tianshui Prison.

11. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Hongfeng Arrested

Mr. Wang Hongfeng from Dadong District was arrested when he was working at an odd job on the afternoon of January 5, 2017, by approximately twelve plainclothes officers. His whereabouts are unknown.

12. [Chongqing] Three Practitioners Taken to Prison

Mr. He Zubin, Mr. Zhu Yong, and Mr. Jin Yu were taken to a prison on January 6, 2017.

13. [Chongqing] Mr. Chen Xianggao Harassed

Mr. Chen Xianggao, in his eighties, was harassed, and had his home was ransacked by officials from the Comprehensive Management Office on December 28, 2016.
