(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zheng Hongfa from Xinyu City was recently given three years in prison following his arrest in June.

Mr. Zheng, a 69-year-old retired worker, put informational materials about Falun Gong and its persecution by the communist regime on police cars. He was arrested on June 27, 2017, after being identified by surveillance footage. He has been held in a detention center since.

He was tried by Yushui District Court on September 20. He retained a lawyer for his defense. The hearing lasted only a half hour. The presiding judge scheduled a second hearing for one month later.

It was reported that the second hearing was never held and that the judge illegally issued the sentence without the knowledge of Mr. Zheng's attorney or family.
