(Minghui.org) Changchun Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Zhikuan, 76, was secretly sentenced to one and a half years in prison by Erdao District Court on November 8, 2017. He was also forced to pay 5,000 yuan.
Mr. Liu is a widower. His son has been living abroad. When he was getting ready for lunch on April 27, 2017, dozens of officers from Erdao District Police Department, led by Sun Runxian, broke into his home. They arrested him, ransacked the house, and confiscated Master Li's (the founder of Falun Gong) photos, boxes of Falun Gong books and Minghui Weekly, and more than 2,000 yuan in small bills, which had Falun Gong-related messages written on them.
Mr. Liu was released on the same day after he failed the physical examination and was not accepted into the detention center.
On August 1, Mr. Liu was arrested again by Sun Runxian and other four policemen from Dongsheng Police Station. Erdao District Court issued an arrest warrant after the fact to cover up for the illegal arrest. Changchun No. 3 Detention Center refused to accept him because Mr. Liu did not meet the physical criteria for detention.
On August 10, at least four officers tried to arrest Mr. Liu again. They left because Mr. Liu did not feel well. One hour later, they came back with Zhao Junfeng from the court and asked him to sign an indictment and a residence surveillance statement.
Since May, Mr. Liu has been illegally monitored. He had to inform the police station every time he went out.
Once again on October 5, Mr. Liu was taken to the prison hospital for a physical examination, and was sent back home due to his physical condition.
