(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 14 were illegally arrested.

1. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Liu Xiaoying Abused in Prison

Ms. Liu Xiaoying was arrested and taken to the Huashan Police Station by Yuantong Zoo security officers on September 3, 2013, for distributing Shen Yun DVDs in the zoo. She was detained in the Kunming City Detention Center for 13 months. She was tried in the Wuhua District Court on March 27, 2014, and sentenced to prison. She is now in the Yunnan Province No. 2 Women's Prison.

Prison guards instigated Zheng Yi, an inmate leader, to strip off Ms. Liu's clothes and throw her outside on a cold rainy day. She was held in the training ward, where she was forced to sit on a small stool for long periods of time and not allowed to use the bathroom. She was forced to write statements disavowing her faith and was made to do slave labor.

2. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Tian Kaishan on Hunger Strike

Mr. Tian Kaishan was arrested by officers from the Yi County Domestic Security Division on February 10, 2017. He has been held in the Yi County Detention Center. Mr. Tian has been on a hunger strike for 10 days, protesting the persecution. He is very weak. His family is not allowed to visit him.

3. [Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Liu Shicun Detained

Mr. Liu Shicun was arrested by officers from the Hushi Police Station in the Duanzhou District on November 26, 2016. He remains in custody, and no family or friends have been allowed to visit him.

4. [Sanmenxia City, Henan Province] Ms. Liu Jianxia Given a Four-Year Prison Term

Ms. Liu Jianxia was arrested in Zhengzhou City on April 10, 2016. She was then transferred to Sanmenxia City. The authorities did not notify her family when she was tried. She was sentenced to four years in prison. She is being held in the No. 9 Ward, Xinxiang Women's Prison.

5. [Chengde County, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Liu Guoxia, Ms. Li Hongwen, and Mr. Liu Guohai were arrested in April 2016 by Hou Shouyin, an officer from the Chengde County Domestic Security Division, and officers from the Longhua County Police Department and the Hanmaying Police Station.

Mr. Liu was released later that day.

In June 2016, Ms. Liu was sentenced to five years in prison and Ms. Li to four years.

Mr. Liu and Mr. Xu Guangdong were arrested on November 4, 2016. Mr. Liu was sentenced to four years in prison and Mr. Xu to three years.

Ms. Liu is in the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison. The other three are in Jidong Prison in the Zuidong area.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Yongqing Given a Five-Year Prison Term

Mr. Wang Yongqing was secretly tried in the Gaoxin District Court in December 2016. He was given a five-year prison term and fined 40,000 yuan. He has filed an appeal.

Mr. Cong Liang was sentenced to three years in prison. He is in Nanguanling Prison in Dalian City.

Ms. Wang Shimin is in critical condition in Xinkang Prison due to abuse.

10. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Hong Given a Two-and-a-Half-Year Prison Term

Ms. Liu Hong from the Wendeng District was arrested when she was at work on November 10, 2016. She was sentenced to two and a half years in prison on January 26, 2017.

11. [Beijing] Ms. Zhong Xiuqing Given a Two-and-a-Half-Year Prison Term

Ms. Zhong Xiuqing from Nankou Town in the Changping District was arrested on February 22, 2017. She was sentenced to two and a half years in prison. She is now in the Changping District Detention Center.

12. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhang Xiuying Sentenced to a Year and a Half in Prison

Ms. Zhang Xiuying was sentenced to one and a half years in prison on February 20, 2017.

13. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Shousheng and Ms. Li Xiuwen Taken to Prison

Mr. Zhang Shousheng was tried in the Jiaohe City Court on the afternoon of November 9, 2016, and sentenced to eight years in prison. Ms. Li Xiuwen from Yongji County was tried the same day. Both practitioners were recently taken to the Jilin City No. 2 Prison.

14. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Sun Guangjun and Mr. Cao Zhiyong Arrested

Mr. Sun Guangjun and Mr. Cao Zhiyong from the Shuangta District were arrested by Nanta Police Department officers on November 17, 2016. They were due to be tried in the Shuangta District Court on March 1, 2017.

15. [Taihe County, Anhui Province] Mr. Gao Heng Detained

Mr. Gao Heng was arrested at school on February 13, 2017. He was held in the Taihe County Detention Center. His computer and printer were confiscated.

16. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wang Arrested

Mr. Wang from Jiangsu Province was arrested by more than 12 domestic security officers when he was working in Shenzhen City on February 21, 2017.

17. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Qing and Ms. Gao Hongjie Detained

Ms. Chen Qing and Ms. Gao Hongjie were arrested by officers from the Xinkailu Police Station on the evening of February 23, 2017, for distributing Falun Gong materials. Both practitioners were taken to a detention center.

18. [Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Mao Shufen and Ms. Ma Cuizhi Arrested

Ms. Mao Shufen and Ms. Ma Cuizhi were arrested by undercover officers when they distributed Falun Gong materials on February 22, 2017.

19. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zheng Xilin Detained

Mr. Zheng Xilin from Longjiang County was arrested at work by officers from the Longjiang County Domestic Security Division and the police station on January 25, 2017. The officers confiscated his car, 320 paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them, over 50 copies of Falun Gong books, a computer, a printer, and 1,000 yuan in cash. He was taken to the Longjiang County Detention Center.
