(Minghui.org) The Missouri House of Representatives passed a resolution on April 25 condemning the state-sanctioned organ harvesting in China. Around the same time, two lawmakers informed their constituents in their weekly column about this crime and the actions that Missourians have taken.
The entire weekly column from Senator Dave Schatz's office on April 27 was about the Chinese regime's crime of forced organ harvesting from Falun Gong and other prisoners of conscience.

Titled “China’s Organ Pillaging: The Mass Murder of the Religious Must Stop”, the Senator's column said:
“Every year, the Chinese government kills thousands of its own citizens and harvests their organs. Moreover, most of these victims are followers of Falun Gong, a peaceful Chinese spiritual practice. This illegal organ pillaging is shocking, inhumane and gruesome.”
The column cited statistics revealing a drastic rise in organ transplants in China beginning in the year 2000, around the time the persecution of Falun Gong began and that the numbers of transplants far exceeded that of death row prisoners.
“These are barbaric and heartless acts that go against the very basic respect due to every human life,” wrote the Senator.
“What’s worse, the Chinese are focusing their murders on the followers of Falun Gong, a peaceful spiritual practice that combines meditation, slow-moving exercises, regulated breathing, and moral/spiritual teachings. The persecution of Falun Gong likely stems from its popularity. In 1999, over 70 million Chinese were adherents of Falun Gong...”
In addition, “Falun Gong’s focus on truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance make it a target for the Chinese Communist Party, who admire the Marxist ideology of materialism and political struggle.”
The Senator wrote: “The Chinese government’s organ harvesting and persecution of Falun Gong are abhorrent, and these actions must come to an end.”
House Representative Bruce DeGroot also addressed the issue of forced organ harvesting in China in his weekly newsletter on April 6.
The Representative wrote in his newsletter:
“I co-sponsored HCR7 which concerns those who practice Falun Gong in China. Falun Gong is a Chinese spiritual practice that combines meditation and qigong exercises with a moral philosophy centered on the tenets of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance. The Chinese Communist Party for the past 17 years has tried to eradicate the movement through means of imprisonment, torture, and extrajudicial execution. HCR 7 urges the United States government to condemn the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.”
The Representative thanked local Falun Gong practitioners for raising awareness about this issue in his district.
