(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 16 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 15 were illegally arrested.

Ms. Duan Jianhua was held in the Baoding Detention Center.

2. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Zengying and Another Practitioner Detained

Ms. Li Zengying and another practitioner were arrested by plainclothes officers from the Shibu Police Station on May 16, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong materials. They were taken to the Changyi City Detention Center that afternoon.

3. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yan Huiru Arrested

Ms. Yan Huiru was arrested on May 17, 2017.

4. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Aili and Another Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Zhang Aili, retired from the Shengli Oilfield Central Hospital, and another practitioner were arrested by officers from the Shengli Police Station on May 16, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong in a park near their home. The other practitioner was released the following day.

5. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Sun Renzhi Arrested

Mr. Sun Renzhi was arrested by Yang Sen and other officers from the Jiepai Town Police Station on the morning of April 9, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Jiepai Town farmers market. He was released on bail for health reasons. He was summoned by the police station on May 14.

6. [Xingyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Wei Chengde and Mr. Qin Jun Detained

Mr. Wei Chengde and Mr. Qin Jun were arrested and taken to the Xingyang City Detention Center.

7. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Yinsen and Ms. Li Fengqin Detained

Mr. Zhang Yinsen and Ms. Li Fengqin were arrested by officers from the Tiexi District Police Department's Domestic Security Division on May 12, 2017 for posting Falun Gong materials. They are held in the Siping City Detention Center. The officers ransacked Ms. Li's home and confiscated a computer and Falun Gong books.

8. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Original Sentences Against Ten Practitioners Upheld

On April 25, 2017 the Shuangyashan City Intermediate Court upheld, without a hearing, the original sentences against ten practitioners, who had been held over a year. The ten practitioners are from Jixian County and Jianshan District.

Ms. Zhang Liyan, Ms. Wang Yuzhi, Ms. Guo Hongxia, Ms. Shan Jinli, Ms. Qi Hongyu, and Ms. Sun Lijuan were taken to the Heilongjiang Women's Prison on May 10, 2017. Mr. Yu Yuebo, Mr. Quan Zhandong, Mr. Zu Wanhai, and Mr. Wang Dongsheng (Ms. Shan's son) were taken to the Jiamusi Prison on the same day.

9. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chi Fengchun and Ms. Kang Qingxiang Detained

Ms. Chi Fengchun and Ms. Kang Qingxiang were arrested by officers from the Laozhaozhuang Town Police Station on the morning of May 16, 2017 for distributing Falun Gong materials. They were interrogated at the police station. They were taken to the Linqing City Detention Center that evening.

10. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Mei'e Detained

Ms. Chen Mei'e was arrested by officers from the Kuiju Police Station on the afternoon of March 10, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was released after 7 p.m. that evening.

Seven or eight officers came to the home of Ms. Chen's daughter on the afternoon of April 10, 2017. They arrested Ms. Chen and took her to a detention center for 15 days of detention. She was released on April 25.

11. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Seven practitioners from Anju District were arrested around May 10, 2017. Among those known to have been arrested are: Ms. Wu Huiying (77 years old), Mr. Zeng Zhongkang (77 years old), and Ms. Yang Yourong (in her 70s).

12. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Mr. Wang Jilin Detained

Officers from the Zhangyelu Police Station ransacked Mr. Wang Jilin's home and confiscated Falun Gong books at noon on May 13, 2017. Mr. Wang, 56, was arrested and taken to the Yantan High Tech Zone Police Department's Domestic Security Division. He is held in the Xiguoyuan Detention Center.
