(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 6 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 33 were illegally arrested.

1. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Xiangtan City 610 Office, the Domestic Security Divisions of the Yuhu and Yuetang Districts, and local police stations broke into Mr. Peng Shiqing and Ms. Xiong Chunxia's home and ransacked it on the morning of August 15, 2017. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, several pieces of equipment, and materials. The couple was taken to the High Tech Zone Police Department.

Mr. Zeng Gu and Ms. Li Qun were also arrested, and their homes ransacked. They were taken to a detention center.

Officers from the Yaowan Police Station pried open Ms. Yan Bilian's door and arrested her. They confiscated over 40 Falun Gong books, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. She was taken to a detention center. Ms. Yan, 77, was released at about 2:00 a.m. for high blood pressure and old age.

2. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Guangjian and Wife Arrested

Four officers from the Mengshan Police Station, Yunmeng tourist area, climbed over the wall and broke into Mr. Wang Guangjian's home in Baiquanyu Village on the morning of August 15, 2017. Mr. Wang and his wife were arrested and taken to the police station. The wife returned home at noon.

3. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Guizhi Arrested

Ms. Wang Guizhi was arrested by officers from the Dongdamen Police Station on the morning of August 15, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong.

The officers also arrested three farmers who were reading Falun Gong materials they had accepted from Ms. Wang. Ms. Wang was taken home around noon.

4. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] Original Verdict of Mr. Si Deli Upheld

Mr. Si Deli was given a three-year-and-three-month prison term on May 25, 2017 for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime. He appealed to the Xinyang Intermediate Court. Without a hearing or notifying his family or lawyer, the intermediate court upheld the original verdict on August 14.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Fan Ying from Lianhua Residential Community, Wenxing Town, Shuangliu District, Shuangliu County, was arrested at home by over 10 police officers on the afternoon of August 15, 2017. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Gao Guixiu and Ms. Yan Lijun were also arrested at that time.

6. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Suzhen, Ms. Jia Juying, and Ms. Xu Xiaoming from Honglan Town, Lishui District, were arrested by officers from the Honglan Police Station on August 14, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked.

7. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Sun Jian Forced to Leave His Home

Xu Dehai, political head, Zheng Haifeng, director, and four or five officers from the Yangquanzi Town Police Station went to Mr. Sun Jian's home and ransacked it on the afternoon of August 15, 2017. They took pictures and videotapes. Mr. Sun escaped and went into hiding. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books and a printer.

8. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Li County 610 Office, and officials from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee broke into practitioners' homes, arrested them, and ransacked their homes at 9:00 p.m. on August 9, 2017.

Falun Gong practitioners known to have been arrested are:Ms. Xie Zhaoyingm, and Mr. Zhou from Mengxi Town.Ms. Shi Jiaju, Ms. Gu Zhixiang, Ms. Qu Jiaxin, and Mr. Yi Jikun from Linan Town.Ms. Xiong Ruilian, and Ms. Du Fangju from Liyang Town.Ms. Deng and Ms. He Fuxiu walked out of the police station that night.

9. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Xiying Arrested

Ms. Li Xiying from Zhengjia Village, Pinglidian Town was arrested at home by officers from the Pinglidian Police Station on the morning of August 15, 2017. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, other materials, and paper currency with Falun Gong information printed on them.

10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Guo Shuchun and Mr. Guo Jixiang were tried at the Zhuanghe Court on the morning of August 11, 2017. Ms. Guo was given a five year prison term, and Mr. Guo a one-year-and-eight-month prison term.

In addition, Mr. Jiang Shilin was given a seven-and-a-half-year prison term.

11. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms Li Xiuying and Ms. Xiong Yunyun Detained

Ms. Li Xiuying and Ms. Xiong Yunyun were arrested by officers from the Xiawei Police Station on the afternoon of August 13, 2017 for distributing Falun Gong materials. Both practitioners were taken to the Yishui Detention Center.

12. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Chunyan Detained

Ms. Liu Chunyan was arrested at home by four or five officers from the Shagang Township Development Zone Police Department, Jixian County, on the afternoon of August 12, 2017. Her family just learned that she was taken to the Shuangyashan Detention Center.

13. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Geng Yingfeng Arrested

Ms. Geng Yingfeng, nearly 80, from Tianzeyuan area, was arrested by over 10 officers from the Jingjiang Police Department and the Jiangning Police Department on the morning of August 15, 2017.

14. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Ji Yuxia and Ms. Wang Jinmei Detained

Ms. Ji Yuxia and Ms. Wang Jinmei from Liuhe District were arrested by Cao and officers from the Shanpan Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Ji was taken to the Nanjing City Detention Center. Ms. Wang was taken to the Xichangmen Police Station.

15. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Teng Lianxiang Arrested

Ms. Teng Lianxiang was arrested on the evening of August 15, 2017.

16. [Bozhou City, Anhui Province] Mr. Liu Yongzeng Tortured

Mr. Liu Yongzeng, in his 60s, from Qiaocheng District, was arrested by officers from the Xuege Police Station on the morning of July 31, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated a printer, a music player, and Falun Gong books. He was taken to a detention center that night for 15 days of detention.

His family went to the detention center to pick him up on August 14. However, officers from the Domestic Security Division had transferred Mr. Liu to a brainwashing center, where he was interrogated and tortured.
