(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 27 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 24 were illegally arrested.

1. [Hinggan League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Fu Zhixia and Ms. Huang Yaju Detained

Ms. Fu Zhixia and Ms. Huang Yaju were arrested by plainclothes officers on the afternoon of December 9, 2017, for distributing Falun Gong materials. Their homes were ransacked.

Ms. Fu and Ms. Huang were taken to the Ulan Hot City Detention Center and held for 15 days.

2. [Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Several Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Several Falun Gong practitioners from Dayangshu Town, Oroqen Autonomous Banner, were arrested and sentenced to prison in 2015 for filing criminal complaints against the former head of the Chinese Communist Party, Jiang Zemin.

Among them, Ms. Liu Yuxia, Mr. Liu Rongxun, and Mr. Jin Humu were each sentenced to a two-year-and-one-month prison term. They have since returned home.

Mr. Cao Jihai was sentenced to a four-year-and-six-month prison term. He is being held in the Alihe Detention Center.

Ms. Lu Chunxia was sentenced to a three-year prison term. She is being held in the Hailar Detention Center.

Ms. Lu's husband, Mr. Wang Changshun, was arrested in June 2017 for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang. He is being held in the Alihe Detention Center.

Ms. Lei Xiuhua was arrested in November 2017 for filing a complaint against Jiang. She is being held in the Hailar Detention Center.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Jin Yulan Taken Into Custody

Ms. Jin Yulan from the Chaoyang District was arrested by officers from the Sanjianfang Police Station on the evening of December 29, 2017. She is being held in the police station.

4. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Feng Jun, Ms. Liang Fajie, and two other practitioners were reported to the authorities for talking to people about Falun Gong in Dongxing Village, Daling Town, on the afternoon of December 26, 2017. They were arrested by officers from the Daling Town Police Station.

Mr. Feng and Ms. Liang were taken to the Yushu City Detention Center and held for five days. The two other practitioners were released.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhu Shuyu Arrested

Ms. Zhu Shuyu was reported to the authorities for talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of December 23, 2017. She was arrested by officers from the Shiling Police Station.

Ms. Zhu was threatened and interrogated in the police station. She was released that afternoon.

6. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Guiying Sentenced to a Three-Year Prison Term

Ms. Liu Guiying was sentenced to a three-year prison term.

7. [Dayi County, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Mr. Huang Yanhui was arrested by officers from the Dayi County Police Station on December 28, 2017. He was taken to the Dayi Detention Center.

Mr. Huang Dingyi and Mr. Zhu Guocai were arrested and taken to the Dayi Detention Center on the same day.

8. [Tianjin] Mr. Li Yongquan and Ms. Huang Junjuan Detained

Mr. Li Yongquan and Ms. Huang Junjuan from Shangmatai Township in the Wuqing District were arrested by officers from the Shangmatai Township on December 28, 2017, for distributing Falun Gong materials.

Mr. Li and Ms. Huang are being held in the Wuqing Detention Center.

9. [Tianjin] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Qi Zhiyin, Ms. Zhou Houmei, Ms. Gao Jianling, and Ms. Gao Yuming were arrested at their homes by officers from the Wuqing District Criminal Police Division on the afternoon of December 28, 2017. They are being held in the Wuqing Detention Center.

10. [Tianjin] Ms. Lu Houfen's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Lu Houfen from the Nankai District was arrested on the morning of December 28, 2017. The police confiscated over 30 Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and a cell phone. Her whereabouts are unknown.

11. [Tianjin] Several Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Ping from the Tanggu District, Binhai New Area, was arrested outside of her apartment building on December 28, 2017. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a printer, cell phone, and 1,000 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them.

Ms. Wang Shuyan and Ms. Jin Zhi from the Hongqiao District were arrested by officers from the Xianyangbeilu Police Station on the same day.

Ms. Gao Lijuan was arrested at work by officers from the Shengli Police Station in the Dagang District. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Dagang Detention Center.

Ms. Cui Yanqing and three other practitioners from the Dagang Oilfield were also taken to the detention center.

12. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Mr. You Yunsheng Sentenced to Prison

Mr. You Yunsheng was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term. He appealed, but the Weifang Intermediate Court upheld the original verdict. He was taken to the Shandong Prison on December 14, 2017.

Mr. You was previously sentenced to a six-year prison term in 2008.

13. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Guo Zhihua Arrested

Mr. Guo Zhihua from Changjiazhuang Village, Liutuan Town, was reported to the authorities for talking to people about Falun Gong in Longchi Town. He was arrested by officers from the Longchi Police Station. His home was ransacked

Mr. Guo was taken home later that evening because he had high blood pressure.

14. [Qianxi County, Hebei Province] Ms. Chai Shuzhen and Ms. Zhang Guilan Arrested

Ms. Chai Shuzhen and Ms. Zhang Guilan were arrested by officers from the Saheqiao Town Police Station on the morning of December 28, 2017.

Ms. Chai was later released because she had high blood pressure. Ms. Zhang was taken to the Qianxi County Detention Center for 15 days.

15. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Xiuying Detained

Ms. Chen Xiuying from Yongbi Village was arrested by officers from the Tongye Town Police Station on December 26, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Chen was taken to the Shijiazhuang No. 2 Detention Center on December 28.

16. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhou Dunwang's Family of Three Taken to Prison

Mr. Zhou Dunwang, his wife Ms. Yang Xianfeng, and their son Mr. Zhou Liang, from Macheng City, Hubei Province, were arrested on November 2, 2016, when they were heading home in a car after visiting Mr. Zhou's younger sister in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province.

Ms. Zhou Dunwang was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term and fined 15,000 yuan.Ms. Yang was sentenced to a three-year-and-nine-month prison term and fined 20,000 yuan.Mr. Zhou Liang was sentenced to a one-year-and-nine-month prison term and fined 10,000 yuan.

They appealed, but the Jinhua City Intermediate Court upheld the original verdicts on December 10, 2017.

Mr. Zhou Dunwang was taken to the Zhejiang No. 2 Prison on December 28. Ms. Yang was taken to the Zhejiang Women's Prison on December 26. Mr. Zhou Liang was taken to the Zhejiang No. 4 Prison on December 28.

17. [Tianjin] Ms. Liu Jinfeng Arrested

Ms. Liu Jinfeng from Douzhangzhuang Township in the Wuqing District was arrested at home by officers from the Douzhangzhuang Police Station and township government personnel around mid-day on December 28, 2017. She was released later that night.

18. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Six Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Yu Jingdong, 78, Mr. Liu Jingdong, Ms. Mu Guiying, Ms. Wu Fengjun, Ms. Cai Yuzhen, and Mr. Zang Yongde from Wulongbei Town were arrested by officers from the Jinshan Police Station on the morning of September 11, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong in Jinshan Town. Their homes were ransacked.

The six practitioners were taken to the Dandong Detention Center.

Five practitioners were released on bail on September 29. Only Mr. Yu remained in detention.

The six practitioners were tried at the Yuanbao District Court on December 13.

Ms. Cai was sentenced to an eight-month prison term, with one year to be served outside of prison.Mr. Zang was sentenced to a six-month prison term, with one year to be served outside of prison.Mr. Yu was sentenced to a one-year prison term, with two years to be served outside of prison.Mr. Liu was sentenced to an eight-month prison term, with one year to be served outside of prison.

Mr. Mu and Ms. Wu's situations are unknown.

19. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Liu Renqiu, Ms. Sheng Jie, Ms. Wang Hongyu, and Ms. Gu Shuchun from the Lushun area were arrested on June 28, 2016.

The four practitioners were sentenced to prison on December 22, 2017.

Ms. Liu was sentenced to a ten-year prison term.Ms. Sheng was sentenced to a seven-year-and-six-month prison term.Ms. Wang was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term.Ms. Gu was sentenced to a two-year prison term.

Ms. Qu Shumei from Yuantai Town was reported to the authorities for distributing Falun Gong materials on the morning of December 27, 2017. She was arrested by the local police, and released later that day.

21. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Xiuyun Sentenced to a Four-Year Prison Term

Ms. Xu Xiuyun was sentenced to a four-year prison term by the Linghe District Court on the morning of December 27, 2017. She has appealed the verdict.

22. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Wen Chunxia Detained

Ms. Wen Chunxia from Gaojia Town was arrested by officers from the Baoji City Police Department and the Domestic Security Division on December 1, 2017. She is being held in the Baoji No. 2 Detention Center.

23. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Rong Shangjun Sentenced to a Four-Year Prison Term

Mr. Rong Shangjun, 53, was tried by the Zhangwan District Court on December 7, 2017. He was sentenced to a four-year prison term on December 26.
