(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 27 were illegally arrested.

1. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Mr. Song Fangming and Ms. Peng Xiaomei Arrested

Mr. Song Fangming and Ms. Peng Xiaomei were arrested by the local police on October 15, 2018, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were taken to a detention center, but were later released after failing the physical examination.

2. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Shoudong's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Li Shoudong was arrested in June 2018. His whereabouts are still unknown.

3. [Xining City, Qinghai Province] Ms. Huang Chengxia Persecuted

Ms. Huang Chengxia was arrested by officers from the Chengdong District Community on October 23, 2018. She was taken to the Shengyin Hotel Brainwashing Center in Chengnan District.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Cong Nan Detained

Ms. Cong Nan was arrested by officers from the Xianguangchang Police Station on October 23, 2018. The police confiscated Falun Gong books and thousands of yuan in paper bills with messages about the practice printed on them.

Ms. Cong is currently held at the No. 4 Detention Center. Her case was transferred to the Luyuan District Court.

5. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ren Wenhe and Ms. Xie Yumin Detained

Ms. Ren Wenhe and Ms. Xie Yumin were arrested on October 17, 2018, for distributing Falun Gong calendars. They are currently held at Leting County Detention Center.

6. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Yu Ping Detained

Ms. Yu Ping was arrested by officers from Beijingjie Police Station on October 21, 2018, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Brainwashing Center of Legal System Compulsory Education Management Office in Guangzhou City.

7. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Seven practitioners were arrested and their homes ransacked by officers from the Shihe District Police Department and its police station on October 19, 2018. They are: Ms. He Xiuling, Ms. Qiu Lan, Mr. Zhao Hai, Ms. Zhao San, Mr. Si Desong, Ms. Jin Danyang and Ms. Xiao Ding.

Ms. He, Ms. Qiu and Mr. Si have been released, while the others are still detained at Xinyang City Police Station.

8. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Jiang Xueqin Detained

Ms. Jiang Xueqin was arrested in August 2018 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked and many of her personal items were confiscated. She is currently held at the Qingcheng Detention Center.

9. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Men Yulin Detained

Mr. Men Yulin was arrested at home by officers from the Yi County Police Department and the Qianyang Town Police Station on October 18, 2018. He is still held at a detention center.

10. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Baoqin and Ms. Shen Chunmei Sentenced and Detained

Ms. Zhang Baoqin was sentenced to a three-year prison term with a four-year probation on October 26, 2013.

On the same day, Ms. Shen Chunmei was sentenced to a four-year prison term with a five-year probation. The police ransacked Ms. Shen's home and confiscated Falun Gong books and cell phones.

Both women are held at the Changliu Detention Center.

11. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fu Shuxian and Ms. Fan Detained

Ms. Fu Shuxian and Ms. Fan were arrested by officers from the Baoguo Police Station in Pingfang District on October 22, 2018, for talking to people about the persecution. Ms. Fan was detained for 10 days and Ms. Fu was subjected to criminal detention.

12. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Jinhuan Detained

Ms. Sun Jinhuan was arrested by officers from the Boping Town Police Station on October 25, 2018, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was held at Guan County Detention Center for 10 days.

13. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xiufeng Arrested

Ms. Wang Xiufeng was arrested and her home ransacked by officers from the Bianfang Police Station on October 24, 2018.

14. [Bayannaoer City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Liu Yongcheng and Ms. Wang Huitao Arrested

Mr. Liu Yongcheng and his wife Ms. Wang Huitao were arrested and their home ransacked by officers from the Wuyuan County Police Department and the Uratezhongqi Police Department on October 24, 2018.

15. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Xu Yixiang and His Wife Detained

Mr. Xu Yixiang and his wife were arrested by officers from the Guangshan County Domestic Security Division and Police Station on October 19, 2018. They are still held at the Guangshan County Detention Center.

16. [Jiansanjiang, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Lianrong Persecuted

Ms. Li Lianrong was sentenced to a three-year prison term. She appealed and her sentence was upheld by the Nongken Intermediate Court. She was transferred to Heilongjiang Women's Prison on October 17, 2018.

17. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Shi Shenghe Sentenced to Three Years with Three Years Probation

Ms. Shi Shenghe, 78, was tried at home by the staff from the Yongchang County Court in early August 2018. The judge had a doctor exam her before the trial. She was given a prepared verdict of three years in prison with a three-year probation. Ms. Shi refused to sign the verdict.

Staff members from the Jinchuan District Department of Justice tried to harass her at home in October 2018. She was told to report to the community correction office on October 18, 2018.

Ms. Shi was arrested in early 2017 for practicing Falun Gong. She had been released on medical bail before the show trial.

18. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhu Hengde Sentenced

Mr. Zhu Hengde, 69, was illegally tried in the Niuzhuang Detention Center on October 10, 2018. The trial ended without issuing a verdict.

Mr. Zhu was later sentenced to three years in prison on October 25, 2018.

19. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Ping on Hunger Strike

Ms. Sun Ping’s lawyer went to visit her on October 26, 2018, but was told that his client refused to meet with him.

Ms. Sun had been meeting him several times in the past months without any issue. It was important for the lawyer to talk to her regarding the indictment letter she received after October 18, 2018.

According to inside information, Ms. Sun had been on a hunger strike for more than 20 days and her situation is of concern.

20. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wang Jiafang Sentenced

Ms. Wang Jiafang was an associate profession of Guangzhou University. She was arrested by officers from the Liurong Police Station in Yuexiu District on October 27, 2017. The Liwan District Court sentenced her to 3.5 years in prison on August 24, 2018. Ms. Wang has appealed to the Guangzhou Intermediate Court.
