(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According to this report, 24 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 6 were illegally arrested.

1. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Xiaoyan Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Chen Xiaoyan was arrested at home by officers from the Liantang Police Station, Luohu District, on October 7, 2017. She was held in the Luohu Detention Center, and then transferred to the Yantian Detention Center. The Yantian District Court sentenced her to a one-and-a-half-year prison term on March 23, 2018.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Feng Gang Passed Away

Mr. Feng Gang, a former teacher from the Dalian Ocean University, was arrested on July 4, 2009. He was held in the Yaojia Detention Center where he passed away on August 14, 2009. His family did not learn of his death until a month later.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ten Practitioners Detained

Ms. Wang Hongna, Mr. Wang Enguo, Ms. Zhou Xiuzhi, Mr. Zhao Xu, Ms. Wang Xiuying, Ms. Wu Yanan, and Ms. Tao Xiujuan were arrested on October 12, 2018. They were held in the Weizigou Detention Center for 15 days. On October 27, only Ms. Tao was released, while the other practitioners were taken away by the police without their families being notified.

Ms. Wang Hongna, Ms. Zhou, and Mr. Wang were taken away by officers from the Qichechang District Domestic Security Division.

Ms. Wang Xiuying was transferred to the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center by officers from Pudonglu Police Station, Economic Development Zone.

Ms. Wu was taken away by officers from the Shenzhen Street Police Station, Economic Development Zone.

Mr. Zhao was transferred to the No. 4 Detention Center by officers from the Mingzhu Police Station, Nanguan District.

Three other practitioners were also arrested:

Mr. Zhao Xiaodong was arrested on October 13, 2018, and held in the Weizigou Detention Center.

Mr. Zheng Weidong was arrested on October 14, 2018.

Mr. Shi Xingjia was arrested at the Fuhao Garden, Chaoyang District, on October 12, 2018. He is being held in the No. 2 Detention Center.

4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Cao E, Ms. Shi Ningyao, and Ms. Lai Guifang from the Development Zone were arrested on October 8, 2017. They were later sentenced to prison by the Development Zone Court. Ms. Cao was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison and taken to Liaoning Women's Prison on August 28, 2018. Ms. Shi was sentenced to five years, and Ms. Lai to seven.

5. [Tianjin] Ms. Dou Yufen Detained

Ms. Dou Yufen from Dongli District was arrested by officers from the Hexi District Domestic Security Division and the Donghai Police Station on the afternoon of October 26, 2018. The police later brought her home, and ransacked the home at around 11:00 p.m. She may have been taken to the Hexi District Detention Center.

6. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Shen Liqing Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Shen Liqing from Xuanhua District was recently sentenced to a one-year prison term by the Xuanhua District Court. He has appealed to the Zhangjiakou City Intermediate Court.

Mr. Shen was arrested by officers from the Nanguan Police Station in Xuanhua District, while talking to people about Falun Gong on March 29, 2018. He was tried by the court on August 1 and August 8, 2018.

7. [Haiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ji Xiuling Detained

Ms. Ji Xiuling was arrested by officers from the Bianfang Police Station when she was talking to people about Falun Gong at the Fengcheng Farmers Market around October 22, 2018. She was detained for five days and released on October 27, 2018.

8. [Liangshan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Su Qingying Arrested

Ms. Su Qingying was arrested in Wendeng District, Weihai City, on October 23, 2018. The police ransacked her home.

9. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Wen Chunxia Taken to Prison

Ms. Wen Chunxia, from Zhaojiaya Village in Weibin District, was arrested by officers from the Weibin Police Department and the Jiangtanlu Police Station on December 1, 2017, and held in the Baoji City No. 2 Detention Center. She was sentenced to a one-and-a-half-year prison term by the Weibin District Court on April 16, 2018. She was transferred to Shaanxi Province Women's Prison on September 11, 2018.

10. [Bo'ai County, Henan Province] Mr. Zhang Mang Detained

Mr. Zhang Mang was arrested by seven plainclothes officers, including Sun Lu from the Bo'ai County Police Department, on the morning of October 10, 2018. He was taken to the Jiaozuo Detention Center the following day.

Mr. Zhang has been arrested and detained several times for his belief. His home has also been ransacked many times. He has been held in brainwashing centers, and sentenced to forced labor twice, for a total of four years. He was tortured in the forced labor camp and lost much of his hair. He was sentenced to fours years in prison and held in the Xinxiang Prison. His term ended in 2016.

11. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Retired Professor Taken to Prison

Mr. Zhou Yi, 81, is a retired associate professor from the Naval Aeronautical Engineering Institute. He held the rank of senior colonel and retired at the level of a division commander. According to inside sources, he is being held in Suzhou Prison.

Mr. Zhou, Ms. Gu Sumei (78), and Ms. Du Huiying (in her 70s) were arrested by over 20 officers from the Gulou District Police Department, the Domestic Security Division, and the Huaqiaolu Police Station on August 17, 2016. The three practitioners were studying Falun Gong teachings together at home.

Mr. Zhou was tried and sentenced by the Gulou District Court in March 2017.

12. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhang Meiying Taken to Prison

Ms. Zhang Meiying was arrested at her younger brother's home on the morning of September 26, 2017. Her restaurant was ransacked. She was taken to the Baiheshan Detention Center. She was sentenced to a three-year prison term on June 8, 2018, and taken to Hunan Province Women's Prison on September 11, 2018.

13. [Binchuan County, Yunnan Province] Ms. Wang Shunxian Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wang Shunxian was recently sentenced to 3.5 years in prison and fined 8,000 yuan.

Ms. Wang and her husband, Mr. Zhu Huilin, were arrested at their grocery store on January 23, 2018. She was held in the Xiaguan City Detention Center, while her husband was held in the Binchuan Detention Center.

14. [Chongqing] Mr. Yan Shuncai Detained

Mr. Yan Shuncai from Jiulongpo District was arrested for distributing Falun Gong materials in Yuzhong District in March 2018. He was eventually released after the detention center refused to admit him because of his high blood pressure. The police have been harassing him since July 2018. He was deceived by the police to go with them to close his case in October 2018. They instead took him to the Huayan Detention Center in Jiulongpo District.

15. [Beijing] Mr. Su Qinghua Detained

Mr. Su Qinghua, from Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, was arrested in Beijing on or around October 16, 2018. It was reported that he is being held in the Tongzhou Detention Center in Beijing.

Mr. Su has been arrested six times over the past ten years for his belief in Falun Gong. He was sentenced to six years in prison, but only served 3.5 years.

16. [Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Liu Yongcheng and Wife Ms. Wang Huitao Detained

Mr. Liu Yongcheng and his wife Ms. Wang Huitao, from Miaoyuan Village in Urad Middle Banner, were arrested on October 25, 2018. Mr. Liu was held in the Wuyuan County Detention Center, and Ms. Wang in the Urad Front Banner Detention Center.

17. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Hua Taken to Prison

Ms. Zhang Hua, 60, was sentenced to four years in prison, and taken to the Jinan Women's Prison on October 23, 2018.

Guard Chen Nan called Ms. Zhang's family on October 25 to ask for information about her family members.

18. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Shuyun Detained

Ms. Zhang Shuyun was arrested by officers from the Daqing Oil Production Factory Police Station and Datong Police Department, including Sun Haiquan, on October 12, 2018. She was held in the Longfeng Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang had high blood pressure, but the police refused to release her. Sun Haiquan said he wanted a payment of 20,000 yuan in exchange for her release. When Ms. Zhang was arrested by Sun two years ago, he extorted 5,000 yuan from her family.
