Singapore: Falun Gong Introduced at the 2018 Health Fiesta

Dec. 7, 2018 |   By Falun Gong practitioners in Singapore

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Singapore promoted the practice at the 2018 Health Fiesta, which was held from Friday, November 30, through Sunday, December 2, 2018, at the Singapore Expo Convention & Exhibition Center.

Yellow banners bearing the words “Falun Dafa is Good” and colorful paper lotus flowers decorated the Falun Gong display booth, which stood out among the many exhibitors. Practitioners gave event attendees flyers, talked to them about the practice and gave out 2019 calendars and bookmarks with information about Falun Gong as free gifts. Practitioners also gave balloons to the children.

Practitioners demonstrated the exercises on stage and many people stopped to watch the demonstration.

A lady who was attracted by the peaceful exercise music stopped to chat with practitioners. Some visitors bought the main book of Falun Gong, Zhuan Falun, and several people signed up for the nine-day lecture classes after they learned more about the practice.

Mr. Huang, a Singapore citizen, told practitioners that he had heard that Falun Gong was good and was keen to give it a try. Ms. Li, another Singapore resident, decided to join a local practice site after being introduced to Falun Gong at the Health Fiesta.

An exhibitor in a booth next to the Falun Gong booth bought the book Zhuan Falun for her husband who had seen information about Falun Gong on YouTube. Her husband had been very interested in knowing more about the practice and had asked her to buy him the book.

The event organizers posted a brief introduction about Falun Gong and a video clip of the exercise demonstration on stage at the event's Facebook page. The video attracted thousands of views.

The Fiesta was one of three family events held at the venue over the weekend, all with free admission, and one of the largest events in Singapore targeting people over the age of 40.
