(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 11 were illegally arrested.

1. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cao Meiyu and Ms. Liu Qiufen Arrested

Ms. Cao Meiyu and Ms. Liu Qiufen from Zhaoyuan City were arrested and their homes were ransacked on the morning of January 17, 2018. Ms. Cao was released that evening. Mr. Liu's whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Fengying Arrested

Ms. Li Fengying from Zhuozhou City was arrested and taken to a police department by three plainclothes officers on the afternoon of January 11, 2018 for telling people about Falun Gong. She was released after her family was extorted 5,000 yuan.

3. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cao Limei Detained

Ms. Cao Limei, 68, and her mother, 89, were arrested by officers from the Zhonggong Police Station at noon on January 17, 2018 for distributing Falun Gong materials. Ms. Cao was detained. Her mother was released that evening.

4. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Ding Jiantao Detained

Mr. Ding Jiantao was arrested at home on January 11, 2018. He is held in the Lintun Detention Center.

5. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Luo Li Mistreated

Ms. Luo Li from Hongwei District was arrested by officers from the Baita District Domestic Security Division on July 19, 2017. She has been held in the Liaoyang City Detention Center. She was mistreated. As a result, she suffers from high blood pressure (with a lower number of 135, and a higher number of 160-170), drowsiness, arrhythmia, in addition to a lot of discomfort.

6. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Mr. Ou Jianbing Arrested

Mr. Ou Jianbing from Linshanhe Town, Tuanfeng County, was arrested by officers from the Tuanfeng County 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division on January 5, 2018.

7. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Ling Fengjun Given a Four-Year-and-Six-Month Prison Term

Mr. Ling Fengjun was arrested at his own store in March 2017. He was later given a four-year-and-six-month prison term.

8. [Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhang Jieyan Given a One-Year-and-Six-Month Prison Term

Ms. Zhang Jieyan was arrested by officers from the Kaiping City Domestic Security Division and the Changsha Police Station on July 12, 2017. She was later given a one-year-and-six-month prison term. She was taken to the Guangzhou Women's Prison.

9. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhang Chuanci and Other Practitioners Detained

Ms. Zhang Chuanci and other practitioners were arrested on the morning of January 18, 2018 for telling officers about Falun Gong at the Wenfeng Police Station, Yingzhou District. They were taken to the Xiguan Detention Center for seven days of detention.

10. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Mingying and Mr. Yao Guocai Arrested

Ms. Wang Mingying and Mr. Yao Guocai from Hualin Town were arrested by officers from the Yangming Police Department on November 29, 2017. The officers ransacked their homes and confiscated Ms. Wang's bank card and Mr. Yao's Falun Gong books.

11. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhou Dongdong and Ms. Wu Xiaoya Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhou Dongdong and Ms. Wu Xiaoya from Lixia District were arrested by officers from the Qianfoshan Police Station on April 1, 2017. Ms. Zhou was given a two-year prison term and fined 3,000 yuan. Ms. Wu was given a three-and-a-half-year prison term and fined 5,000 yuan. Both were taken to the Shandong Women's Prison on December 19, 2017.

12. [Chongqing] Mr. Zeng Xiangjin Arrested

Mr. Zeng Xiangjin from Dazu District was arrested by farmers market management staff and police assistants on January 16, 2018 when he distributed Falun Gong materials. He has returned home.

13. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Mr. Ke Changyan Detained

Mr. Ke Changyan from Mingshan Township, Daye City, was arrested and his home was ransacked by Huang, director of the Mingshan Township Police Station, and Zhang Xuhua, section head of the Daye 610 Office, in the early morning hours of January 16, 2018. He is currently held in the Xiongjiabian Detention Center.

14. [Tianjin] Mr. Fang Keshan and Wife Ms. Zhang Shulan Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Fang Keshan and his wife Ms. Zhang Shulan from Beichen District were arrested on May 12, 2016. They have been held in the Nankai Detention Center.Their cases were filed at the Nankai Court in September 2016. The trial held on March 7, 2017 was adjourned for lack of evidence.

The second trial was held on September 26, 2017. On October 31 the couple were each given a three-and-a-half-year prison term. Ms. Zhang is currently held in the Tianjin Women's Prison. Mr. Fang's whereabouts are unknown.
