(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 13 were illegally arrested.
The Xingtai City Intermediate Court notified Mr. Zhang Mengjie's family in March 2018 that he would be tried again on the morning of March 30.
Mr. Zhang and Mr. Li Wenshuang were arrested by officers from the Qiaodong Domestic Security Division. They were held in the Xingtai Legal Education Center for 43 days. Mr. Zhang's case was turned over to the Qiaodong Court by the Qiaodong Procuratorate. He was tried on the afternoon of November 8, 2017, sentenced to five years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan.
Mr. Zhang has been held in the Xingtai No. 1 Detention Center for one-and-a-half years.

Ms. Zhang Xinyi was arrested at her home on October 13, 2017. She was taken to a police station, and held there for six hours. The officers confiscated her household registration booklet and ID card.
The items were not returned until the end of October 2017.

Ms. Meng Qingmei, 74, from Shan County is being held in the No. 11 Ward of Jinan Women's Prison.
Ms. Meng refused to renounce her belief in Falun Gong, and went on a hunger strike on March 10, 2018. She was dragged to the prison hospital and force-fed.

Mr. Gao Weiping was sentenced to a four-year prison term and fined 8,000 yuan by the Dongcheng District Court on December 29, 2017. He has appealed to the Beijing No. 2 Intermediate Court.

Officers from the Huanggezhuang Police Station and Yinfeng Police Station went to Ms. Qiao Guiping's home on March 27, 2018, and informed her family that she had been taken to the Tangshan City No. 1 Detention Center.
Four officers from the Yongquan Township Police Station broke into Ms. Tong Yinping's home on the morning of March 26, 2018, without showing any identification.
They handcuffed and shackled Ms. Tong, and took her to the police station. The officers then went back to her home and ransacked it. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a music player, and Falun Gong calendars.
Officers from the Changzhoudao Police Station, the Domestic Security Division, and personnel from the residential committee arrested Ms. Tao Wenhong on March 16, 2018. They ransacked her home and confiscated over 30 Falun Gong books.
Ms. Tao was taken to a detention center shortly after 2:00 a.m. and was given a physical. She suddenly developed symptoms of severe heart problems, so the detention center refused to accept her.
Ms. Tao was released after being forced to pay 5,300 yuan.
Ms. He Zhanfeng was sentenced to a four-year prison term by the Weidu District Court. She was taken to the Xinxiang Women's Prison.
Three family members remain in detention following their arrest more than a year ago, for providing shelter to a Falun Gong practitioner.
Ms. Sun Shiying, her son and her daughter were arrested on March 6, 2017. Their cases were passed to the Chaoyang District Procuratorate on June 2, 2017.
Prosecutor Lu Jinming sent their cases to the Chaoyang District Court in mid-January 2018. The family's relatives weren't able to locate their case in the courthouse until March 28.
Many local residents have signed a petition calling for the release of Ms. Sun and her two children.
Mr. Feng Shaoyong and Mr. Chen Zeqi were arrested on September 24, 2016, for refusing to renounce their belief in Falun Gong.
The police wanted to sentence them, but the Longgang District Procuratorate returned their case back to the police twice in a row, citing insufficient evidence. The Ailian Police Station sent more “evidence” and persuaded the Procuratorate to file indictments against Mr. Feng and Mr. Chen in June 2017.
The two practitioners were tried in the Longgang Court on December 1, 2017. Their lawyers defended their constitutional right to freedom of belief, but the Longgang Court then passed their cases to the Shenzhen City Intermediate Court.
It's unclear whether the two practitioners have been sentenced and are appealing their case, or whether the lower court is only looking to the higher court to make a decision.
Ms. Wang Shulan, 59, was arrested on the morning of July 22, 2017. She was tried on January 16, 2018, and sentenced to four years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan.
Ms. Wang appealed to the Huludao Intermediate Court, but they upheld the original verdict on March 23, 2018.
Mr. Zhao Quan was arrested in August 2017 and has been held for over six months. His family members and attorney have gone to the related judicial departments many times to request his release, but have not been successful.
Ms. Mou Yongxia was arrested at the Daqing West Train Station on March 16, 2018. She was taken to the Daqing Detention Center, and her case was submitted to the Ranghulu Procuratorate on March 26.
Ms. Mou’s health has deteriorated since her arrival at the detention center. She has high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, and is in extreme pain. She regularly needs an oxygen mask.
Ms. Yang Cuiling, Ms. Wang Yanxin and Ms. Yue Shuxia from the Yuanbaoshan District were arrested on November 5, 2017, for talking to villagers about Falun Gong.
The three practitioners were tried at the Harqin Banner Court on the afternoon of March 27, 2018. The judge threatened to sentence each practitioner to more than three years of imprisonment.
Ms. Yang, 68, defended her right to practice Falun Gong.
The practitioners are being held in the Jinshan Detention Center in Harqin Banner.
