(Minghui.org) Eight residents in Fuyu County were arrested on May 16, 2018 for filing criminal complaints against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin for initiating the persecution of Falun Gong that resulted in their past detentions.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a mind-body practice based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Fan Jingtao, Fan Lijuan, Hong Li, and Wang Dianmin, all self-employed, were seized moments after they opened their shops for business. Shortly before arresting Wang, the local police had gone to the local hospital to harass Wang's mother, who was being treated for stroke and high blood pressure.
Pan Honghua, Xiaohong (whose surname remains to be investigated), Zuo Dexiu (a 60-year-old teacher), and Zhou Minglei were the other four Falun Gong practitioners arrested on the same day.
The gender of these practitioners is unknown at the time of writing. They were given 5-10 days of detention.
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
In its “registration system reform opinions,” the Supreme People's Court in China claimed that it would guarantee the registration and processing of all complaints filed. This new policy was to take effect on May 1, 2015.
