South Australia: March and Rally Support 300 Million Withdrawals from Chinese Communist Party

May 7, 2018 |   By a practitioner in Australia

(Minghui.org) “Disintegrating the Persecution and Supporting 300 Million Withdrawals from the Chinese Communist Party” was the theme of a march and rally held in Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, on April 28.

Falun Gong's Tian Guo Marching Band led the march, which stepped off from the Government House, traveled along the King William Road through downtown Adelaide, and ended in Chinatown.

Six guest speakers spoke at a rally after the march, praising the ever growing trend of people quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The groundswell of Chinese citizens leaving the Party began spontaneously in 2004 after the newspaper The Epoch Times published its series of articles Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Fourteen years later, as of March 23, 2018, 300 million Chinese have quit the CCP and its affiliated youth organizations, the Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers.

March through downtown Adelaide celebrates 300,000,000 people quitting the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations.

The rally at the Victoria Square.

The rally at Victoria Square was hosted by Damian Wyld, City Council member for the city of Tea Tree Gully. Councillor Wyld said he hopes that the courageous Chinese people who have withdrawn from the CCP know that the world stands with them. He feels that more and more Australians have a better understanding of the human rights violations in China, and he believes that dramatic changes will happen in China soon.

Spokesperson for The Epoch Times, Zhang Biguang noted in his speech that 300 million withdrawals is a milestone and something worth celebrating, as the disintegration of the CCP “brings blessings to China and the world.”

Tammy Franks interviewed by NTDTV.

Tammy Franks, Member of the South Australian Legislative Council, praised the peacefulness of the Quitting the Party movement, a grassroots movement that has had a major impact. She believes that the movement has brought fundamental changes to the world and she is happy to both celebrate and support it.

Ms. Franks noted that all people want peace in China, and that Chinese people should enjoy human rights and freedom. She stated that she will continue to support the efforts to stand up for human rights, including stopping the state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting of prisoners of conscience in China, the majority of whom are Falun Gong practitioners imprisoned for their belief.

Oanh Nguyen, a City Council member from Charles Sturt, has witnessed similar events in Hong Kong and Taiwan, which she finds encouraging. She appreciated the chance to attend the rally today and commented on the peacefulness of the event.

Many local residents and tourists stopped at the rally and listened to the speeches.

Rollins, a visitor from America, condemned the persecution of Falun Gong in China. He was shocked by the state-sanctioned organ harvesting. “We should all do something to stop this crime,” Rollins said. “I will write to my congressman after I am back in the States, requesting that he does more to stop it.”

He also remarked on the peacefulness of Falun Gong's resistance to 19 years of brutal persecution. “Persecuting a group that follows the universal values of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is a shame on the communist party,” he said.

This young man learned about the state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting in China from the YouTube channel “China Uncensored.” “People should not be killed for doing something so peaceful, such as meditation,” he said.

At the end of the rally, the Tian Guo Marching Band performed several more pieces, which drew many passersby.

Andy, a researcher at the University of South Australia, praised the performance for bringing a sense of positive energy and hope to the community.

“You have done a great thing. Keep up the good job,” many people affirmed.
