Introducing Falun Gong in Nagoya, Japan

Sept. 2, 2018 |   By a Falun Gong practitioner in Japan

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Japan held activities to introduce the meditation practice to the public in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, on August 25 and 26, 2018. They also raised awareness of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong. The event was held in Sakae, the busiest business district in Nagoya.

Practitioners in Nagoya introduce Falun Gong and raise awareness of its persecution in China.

These two days coincided with the day of Domatsuri, the largest dance festival in the Chubu region of central Japan. This year's festival ran from August 23 to 26 and attracted more than 2.2 million spectators.

Many dancers passed by the Falun Gong stand.

Falun Gong practitioners held banners worded "Falun Dafa is good", "Stop the persecution of Falun Gong", "SOS, worldwide signature collection to stop the CCP's live organ harvesting and support the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin (former head of the CCP who initiated the persecution)," and other messages in Chinese, English, and Japanese.

Many people signed a petition calling for the prosecution of Jiang Zemin, former Chinese Communist Party leader who launched the persecution of Falun Gong.

On August 25, a young man could not write because his right hand was injured. However, he used his left hand to sign the petition slowly and seriously.

A man in his 60s said to practitioners after signing his name, "If the Communist Party does not fall, the problem will not be solved fundamentally."

A young dancer came to sign the petition and said, “Way to go!” every time he met the practitioners. He revealed that it was the only Chinese phrase he knew.

On the afternoon of August 25, two Chinese students studying at Nagoya University stopped before the practitioners’ banners and chatted with practitioners for more than an hour. They said that they had browsed the Falun Gong website in Japan and also read books by Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong.

Both of them agreed to quit the Chinese Communist Party, the Communist Youth League, and the Young Pioneers. One said that he believed in Buddha and fate. He said that Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good and that he also wanted to practice Falun Gong.

The next day, two other Chinese students in their mid-twenties stopped by the practitioners’ stand. A practitioner told them about Falun Gong after they passed by the banners. After listening to the explanation, the two students signed the petition. One student asked practitioners after signing, "What else can I do for you?"
