(Minghui.org) Mr. Zeng Hongyuan was sentenced to one year and three months for practicing Falun Gong around April 4, 2018. He was released two months later, after having developed severe medical conditions at Hongjiang District Detention Center.

Mr. Zeng, 58, from Huaihua City, Hunan Province, was arrested on August 11, 2017 for his faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body improvement system persecuted by the communist regime since 1999.

He was tried by Hongjiang District Court on February 12, 2018. His lawyer entered a not-guilty plea for him. The judge announced the verdict two months later.

Mr. Zeng has been repeatedly arrested and was given a forced labor camp term in 2004 because he refused to renounce Falun Gong. His wife, Ms. Liu Jianhua, also a Falun Gong practitioner, passed away as a result of the persecution in 2007. She was 44.
