(Minghui.org) I have loved spicy food since I was a child. I felt a meal without hot chili peppers had no taste. I couldn't understand why people picked out the hot chilies in their food. When I was a child, I sometimes cried from stomach pain after eating spicy meals. I continued eating spicy food the next day, however, as if nothing happened.
Master said,
“On the issue of food, besides eating meat one should not be attached to any other food, either. The same is true with other things.”(Lecture Seven, Zhuan Falun)
When I became a practitioner, I did not realize that this was an attachment. Probably because it was already part of my life, and Master did not specifically say we could not eat spicy food.
I did not pay attention to it, until one day, I had my favorite meal of scrambled eggs with hot chili peppers. The eggs were cooked with a small green chili, and it was extremely hot. Even my family could not stomach it. I loved the dish so much. I did not want to waste it, so I ate all of it. My stomach hurt a bit when I went to bed that night, but I ignored the pain.
I woke up holding a Cultivated Infant. It was the size of my palm and it’s face was wet with tears. I asked, “What’s the matter? Why are you so sad?”
The Cultivated Infant wept and said, “I don’t want to stay here anymore. I’m leaving!” It jumped off my palm, and ran away crying. It left my bedroom, ran across the living room, and went up the stairs.
I was worried because the Cultivated Infant was very small, so I ran after it to make sure it was safe. When I reached the living room, a large, tall man (I’m guessing it was Master’s Law Body) stood there. He said, “No need to escort it. It will be back in a couple of days.” I woke up and realized it was a dream.
Soon after, I had lunch with another practitioner. I said, “I think the Cultivated Infant ran away because I ate too much hot chili pepper. Master said it will be back in two days, but I’m not sure if it can come back.”
I had another dream two days later. I was a beautiful fairy and brought the Infant back. I held it as if I had recovered a precious treasure, and I smiled brightly. The Infant was smiling at me.
We were having a meal with several people at a large table. Someone gave me a small spoon and wanted me to feed the Cultivated Infant. The spoon held a drop of golden liquid. An image flashed in front of me indicating the liquid was a substance my digestive system produced from the food I ate.
After the Cultivated Infant ate what was on the spoon, it grabbed my hand and wanted to go out and play. I saw a bowl of soup and I wanted to eat it, but the Cultivated Infant took my hand and we went around the world instead.
It was very mischievous and playful. When we took a break, I suggested we go back to have some soup, but the Cultivated Infant did not want to. It said something that made me feel guilty and funny at the same time, “I don’t want to eat anything, and I don’t want you to eat either.”
The Cultivated Infant looked embarrassed and smiled at me. I teased it. The Cultivated Infant was even more embarrassed. Its expression was so innocent and cute!
Master said,
“Some people say that they just like to eat a particular food—that is also a desire. After reaching a certain level of cultivation, a practitioner will not have this attachment.”(Lecture Seven, Zhuan Falun)
