Inner Mongolia Man Released on Bail Eight Hours After Being Arrested for His Faith

Dec. 1, 2019 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Inner Mongolia, China

(Minghui.org) A 72-year-old man was released about eight hours after being arrested for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Mr. Yang Mingting, a retired railroad worker in Old Barag Banner, Inner Mongolia, moved to Manzhouli City, where his son works, after he retired. He returned to Old Barag, about 100 miles from Manzhouli, in late October 2019 and distributed informational materials about Falun Gong there.

Someone with misunderstandings about Falun Gong reported him. The police went to his home in Manzhouli at around 4:30 p.m. on October 29, 2019, and arrested him.

About eight plainclothes officers, who refused to show their police IDs, confiscated more than 200 Falun Gong books, 6,100 yuan in cash, and many other personal belongings, worth 19,000 yuan, from his home.

The police then took Mr. Yang to the Beiqu Police Station for interrogation. Mr. Yang refused to answer their questions, but kept talking to them about how practicing Falun Gong brings benefits to people, and how the communist regime has committed crimes in persecuting practitioners for their faith.

Several officers asked questions about the slanderous propaganda spread by the communist regime, and Mr. Yang clarified every one of the questions.

Mr. Yang was found to have high blood pressure during a health examination that evening and was released on bail at around midnight.
