(Minghui.org) Before I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996, I suffered from congenital hypothyroidism, heart disease, and rheumatoid arthritis, just to name a few of my long list of afflictions. At 28 years of age, I was small and scrawny with a pale complexion and unnaturally protruding eyeballs. Always listless and irritable, my life was miserable. That all changed when my eyes caught sight of the book Zhuan Falun; the gloom that had overshadowed me was instantly lifted. It was as if bright, warm light had pierced through the darkness and uplifted my spirit.
I was intrigued: How could a book I hadn’t even read seem so comforting, engendering in me a sense of ease and contentment I had never felt before? That strong pull motivated me to read the book in earnest, and I embarked on my cultivation journey.
Two weeks after I started studying the book and doing the exercises, all my health problems disappeared and I’d never felt healthier or happier. I was like a new person, both physically and mentally.
I feel so blessed to be able to cultivate such a rare and exceptional spiritual discipline. I firmly believe Falun Dafa has been bestowed upon us by the divine, offering us a way to salvation.
Countless miracles have been attributed to the power of Falun Dafa. I will recount a few representative cases I know of as a way of bearing witness to Dafa’s greatness.
The young wife of one of my relatives hadn’t conceived after trying for six years. It turned out that she had cysts on one ovary, which were surgically removed. That ovary, however, never again produced eggs. Her other ovary was inflamed and functioned poorly, so her chances of becoming pregnant were extremely small. She also ran the risk of an ectopic pregnancy.
Confirming everyone’s fears, she went to the local hospital one day complaining of severe abdominal pain and an ultrasound confirmed an ectopic pregnancy. When she went to have it checked out at our provincial hospital, the doctor said they would first need to take another ultrasound.
While waiting at the hospital, I told the young couple, “Your chances of pregnancy do not look that promising, but you have withdrawn from the Chinese Communist Party in the past, which was an acknowledgment of the divine. Divine beings will help you now if you sincerely recite, ‘Falun Dafa is great! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is great!’ The two of them saw hope and repeated it silently. During the ultrasound, the doctor could not find the fertilized egg anywhere. The abdominal pain had also gone away. The doctor said, “I can’t treat this as an ectopic pregnancy. Let’s wait and see; come back in a week.”
I told them to keep reciting the phrases, especially when the pain occurred. When I called to check on her three days later, she said the pain had not come back since she had started reciting the phrases. When she went back to the doctor a week later, the ultrasound clearly showed a two-month-old fetus inside her uterus. The doctor was amazed.
Blessed by Dafa, she gave birth to a baby girl. The couple was very grateful to Dafa and Master for his divine intervention.
At the birth clinic where I work, a baby girl was born with bumps all over her back. She was born to a 30-year-old first-time mother. A more specialized hospital confirmed that the baby had spina bifida. In distress, the family took the baby to several well-known specialists, who all concluded that, due to the severity of the baby’s condition, no surgery would help. They said the baby was too sick to live for long and would have severe brain damage.
In despair, the family decided to take the baby home. The day they left the hospital, I asked the teary-eyed mother what her plans were. She said, “The baby does not have much time, so her grandmother will take her home first. We will go home after the baby passes away. We have already found accommodation at a hotel.” I said, “You can’t just give up on your baby. There is a way.”
I started by clarifying the truth to the family and had them all withdraw their Party memberships. I gave them a Dafa keepsake and told them to put it next to the baby and to keep reciting, “Falun Dafa is great! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is great!” as they touched the baby’s back.
A month later, the baby’s father found me. He was beaming with happiness and could hardly wait to tell me: “It was a miracle! The lumps on the baby’s back did not grow bigger as she grew. And she has no intellectual disabilities—she seems pretty smart to me!” When I asked him how the baby was cured, he said they did exactly what I told them to do.
A checkup three months later revealed that defects in the closure of the baby’s vertebral arches did not appear as serious as before, and since the baby was now healthier, they operated to correct her spine. The mother came with the baby to visit me after the operation. The baby was very excited to see me, waving her little arms to try to get a cuddle from me. The mother was amused and remarked that the baby seemed to like me more than her. I believe the baby was grateful to Dafa for saving her life.
At a market, I bumped into a vegetable seller who used to be one of my neighbors. She was surprised to see me looking so well given my poor health years before and asked me what happened. I told her that I’d regained my health by practicing Falun Dafa. I also told her about the persecution. She immediately agreed to quit the Party and asked me to do the same for all her family members, assuring me that they would agree if she told them why.
As I was leaving, she asked me, “What do you think I can do about my eyes?” Her eyes were bright red. It was conjunctivitis, and the medicine she was taking for it, which the doctor said she was sensitive to, made her nauseous and vomit. I knew it was one of those conditions that did not respond well to medication. I said to her, “Stop the medication if it doesn’t help. If you can sincerely recite, ‘Falun Dafa is great, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is great,’ it just may help. Another thing is, though, you must be honest in conducting your business.”
I saw her again a week later and her eyes had recovered. I asked her about it and she said, “I did what you told me to do. I found that, not only has my eye problem disappeared, my business has also improved. Now I repeat those phrases all the time!”
When my son was 10-years-old, I noticed a lumpy mole on his legs where the skin was torn from scratching. Five years later, a little black tumor grew at that spot and more tumors sprouted up over time, thickly covering both of his shins. He was also losing weight rapidly. I realized that was caused by karma and asked him, “Why don’t you do the exercises with me?”
He agreed, but his father was not happy about it, saying, “He’s in junior high school and has a lot of homework. He should be going to bed after 10 p.m. not doing exercises!” I took him aside and said, “Do you know what our son is suffering from? He has pigment cell tumors. There’s no known cure for this condition. It’s very dangerous.” He did not stop us after that.
During a school holiday, after my son and I spent a lot of time studying Falun Dafa’s teachings and doing the exercises, the tumors went away and his legs became smooth again, as if nothing had ever happened. Our relatives and friends were all amazed at the power of Dafa. My son has since become a very healthy and agreeable young man.
I am healthy in body and mind all because of Falun Dafa, and I am happy to spread the good news to others.
