(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Li Yajie was arrested on March 23, 2017, and sentenced to ten months in prison. He was released on January 23, 2018.

Ms. Tian Lingquan was arrested in October 2016. She was sentenced to four years in prison, and is incarcerated in the No. 8 Ward of Changchun City Women's Prison.

Ms. Guo Qingfen was arrested by officers from the Dexiang Police Station on June 12, 2018. She was sentenced to three years in prison, with three years' probation. Ms. Guo was released in November 2018.

2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Zhuping's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Li Zhuping, about 68 years old, took a train from Changchun City to Nong'an County around the Chinese New Year. She told other practitioners that she would return the following day, but has not yet returned. Her whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Jianying Tried

Ms. Liu Jianying was arrested on July 15, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Liu was placed under criminal detention for over three months, and was tried by the Dehui City Court on November 22, 2018. She is in poor health.

4. [Wuzhong City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Mr. Song Laiping Tried

Mr. Song Laiping, 67, was tried in the No. 1 Court of Wuzhong City Intermediate Court on the morning of January 28, 2019. His lawyer pleaded “not guilty” for his client, and Mr. Song reaffirmed his innocence. The court has not yet announced the verdict.

5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Che Shufeng's Case Turned Over to Court

Ms. Che Shufeng's case was filed at the Laishan District Court on January 19, 2019.

6. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhu Hongwen and Mr. Yan Fuxiang Arrested

Mr. Zhu Hongwen, from Nanxiaozhuang Village, Buzidian Town, was arrested by officers from the Ji County Police Department on January 14, 2019. He was taken to the Qilifeng Detention Center in Ji County.

Mr. Yan Fuxiang was arrested at home by officers from the Ji Police Department in the autumn of 2018. Mr. Yan's family paid the police 30,000 yuan for his release. In return, his family has restricted his moments and are monitoring him closely.

7. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Sulan Taken to Prison

Ms. Zhang Sulan, from Xiaogaozhuang Village, Beigang Town, went to the Zhujiangdao Police Station in the Qinhuangdao Development Zone on March 14, 2018, to ask for the return of her Falun Dafa books, which were confiscated by the police. She was arrested, placed under criminal detention, and taken to the No. 2 Detention Center. She was transferred to the No. 1 Detention Center on March 23.

Ms. Zhang was tried by the Changli County Court on August 16, and was sentenced to a three-year prison term. She was taken to the No. 14 Ward of Shijiazhuang Women's Prison on December 17, 2018.

8. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Chen Zhenlei Detained

Mr. Chen Zhenlei was taken to the Shenzhou City Detention Center.

9. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Ye Huiming Detained

Ms. Ye Huiming was arrested by officers from the Nanqiao Police Station when she was shopping on the afternoon of January 31, 2019. She was taken to the Xinxiang City Detention Center.

Ms. Ye has been on the police wanted list since 2015.

10. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Hongxia Detained

Ms. Zhang Hongxia from the Baoji City Children's Park was arrested on November 8, 2018, when she was studying the Falun Gong teachings at a practitioner's home. She was taken to the Baoji No. 2 Detention Center, and has not been allowed family visits.

11. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Jiang Shisheng, Mr. Wang Pingsheng, and Mr. Dong Yuexiao were arrested in Haiqing Town, Jiaonan City, by officers from the Haiqing Police Station on April 20, 2018.

Mr. Jiang was taken to the Huangdao District Detention Center, where he was held for over eight months. Mr. Wang and Mr. Dong were released on bail due to health reasons.
