(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Yilin, a resident of Changchun City, Jilin Province, was arrested on April 20, 2019 for telling people at Nanhu Park about Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since July 1999. She is now facing indictment for her faith, and her family is seeking her unconditional release.
The police initially gave Ms. Wang 15 days of detention, but when her family went to Weizigou Detention Center on May 5, they saw three police officers putting her in a cruiser instead of releasing her. They learned that she was transferred to Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center.
Ms. Wang's arrest was approved by Chaoyang District Procuratorate on May 15, and the person handling her case is Zhang Xiao. At the time of writing, the case has been returned to the Pre-Trial Division in Chaoyang District Public Security Sub-Bureau.
Zhang has refused to meet with Ms. Wang's family to discuss her case. He told them on the phone that he is following the communist regime's policy to approve Ms. Wang's arrest.
When the family went to Chaoyang District Public Security Sub-Bureau, the security guard refused to let them in or reveal who was in charge of Ms. Wang's case. He asked them to talk to Nanhu Police Station, which sent them back to the sub-bureau.
Ms. Wang's husband wrote a letter to the authorities to seek his wife's release.

To whom it may concern,
I am Ma Zirui, husband of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Yilin, who was arrested on April 20 by Nanhu Police Station in Chaoyang District, Changchun City. My wife was first given 15 days of administrative detention and later changed to criminal detention. It has since been more than one month and I learned that she might be sentenced.
Though I don't practice Falun Gong, I have personally witnessed how Falun Gong has made my wife a truly good person. She has three sisters, and only she diligently cared for their cancer-stricken mother until she passed away. She is known among her extended family as a dutiful daughter.
Once, she was hit by a motorbike, which caused a big cut on her thigh. She refused compensation from the person. I was worried when her leg turned black the next day but she kept doing the Falun Gong exercises and fully recovered in less than four months.
I have been extremely distraught since her arrest. I was nearly hit twice when I accidentally ran a red light in my distracted mental state. My pregnant daughter has been crying every day since her mother's arrest. I am really worried for my daughter and her future child's health. My wife's younger sister's depression has also recently recurred and she kept calling me to ask for her sister.
I have searched the Internet for more information about my wife's case and learned that there is no law in China that labels Falun Gong a cult, thus there was no legal basis for my wife's arrest. I also know that people in many countries around the world are practicing Falun Gong, including Hong Kong and Macau. Moreover, a citizen has the constitutional right to freedom of belief.
I hope that you will read my letter, and within the scope of your abilities, help me reunite with my wife so that our family could be together.
